The Hampton Pirates to take on the Donald N. Dedmon Center to take on the Radford Highlanders this Wednesday night in College Basketball action.

The Hampton Pirates lost their 3rd straight game and dropped to 4-9 on the season after being defeated by the North Carolina A&T Aggies, 67-59, this past Wednesday night. Hampton had no answers on either end of the court for North Carolina A&T and could not fight all the way back after going into halftime trailing by a 39-22 margin. Hampton shot 34.4% from the field & 25.9% from beyond the arc while allowing North Carolina A&T to shoot 33.3% from the field & 25.0% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Pirates was Raymond Bethea Jr. who had a double-double with 21 points, 10 rebounds, 1 assist, & 1 block.

On the season, Hampton is averaging 61.9 ppg on 38.0% shooting from the field. The Pirates are averaging 5.8 three-pointers per game on 27.4% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Hampton has been led by Najee Garvin (15.8 ppg, 5.8 rpg, 1.8 apg), Russell Dean (12.4 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 3.0 apg, 1.2 spg), Marquis Godwin (6.6 ppg, 2.2 rpg), & Raymond Bethea Jr. (6.0 ppg, 3.5 rpg).

Defensively, Hampton is allowing their opponents to average 66.0 ppg on 41.2% shooting from the field. The Pirates have a rebound margin of -7.8 and a turnover margin of 1.5.

The Radford Highlanders lost their 3rd straight game and dropped to 5-11 on the season after being defeated by the Campbell Fighting Camels, 70-58, this past Saturday. Radford led by a 57-52 margin with just 4:22 left in regulation, however, the Highlanders offense struggled down the stretch and Campbell was able to pull away after a 12-0 run gave the Fighting Campbells a 64-57 lead with 1:56 left in regulation. Radford shot 41.8% from the field & 27.8% from beyond the arc while allowing Campbell to shoot 54.9% from the field & 35.0% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Highlanders was Josiah Jeffers who had 15 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, & 1 steal.

On the season, Radford is averaging 64.1 ppg on 42.2% shooting from the field. The Highlanders are averaging 7.6 three-pointers per game on 33.2% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Radford has been led by Bryan Hart (9.5 ppg, 2.5 rpg, 1.5 apg, 1.0 spg), Rashun Williams (9.2 ppg, 5.1 rpg, 1.1 apg), Josiah Jeffers (8.3 ppg, 2.9 rpg, 2.9 apg, 2.2 spg), & Artese Stapleton (6.0 ppg, 2.5 rpg, 2.3 apg).

Defensively, Radford is allowing their opponents to average 70.4 ppg on 45.6% shooting from the field. The Highlanders have a rebound margin of 1.6 and a turnover margin of -2.9.

The Pirates are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 Wednesday games and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The Highlanders are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 Wednesday games, however, are just 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games overall.

Hampton has been led by their defense which ranks 101st in scoring defense & 104th in defensive FG%, however, the Pirates have struggled offensively as they come into this game ranked just 333rd on scoring offense & 346th in FG%. Radford has struggled on both ends of the court this season as the Highlanders come into this game ranked 317th in scoring offense, 268th in FG%, & 303rd in defensive FG%.

Radford might look worse statistically against Hampton, however, the Highlanders played a much tougher schedule to start the season, which included games at Virginia, Virginia Tech, & West Virginia, and I think when it comes down to it, the Highlanders are the much better in this one. Hampton is just 1-6 on the road while not looking great offensively all season and as Radford has been decent at home, posting a 4-2 record, I think the Highlanders do enough in this one to cover this mid-range home spread. Good Luck!
