The Saint Peter’s Peacocks and the Rider Broncs meet Friday in college basketball action from the Yanitelli Center. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this game. Here’s a Rider vs Saint Peter’s Prediction.

Saint Peter’s Recap

The Saint Peter’s Peacocks come into this game looking to bounce back from a 48-37 loss to Merrimack last time out to fall to 7-9 on the year. After this game, Saint Peter’s will head home for a game against Mount St. Mary’s.

Peacocks Looking For Some Consistency

Marcus Randolph leads the Peacocks in scoring with 14.2 PPG along with 3.3 RPG while Armoni Zeigler has 10.8 PPG with 6.1 RPG as the only other double-digit scorer for Saint Peter’s up to this point in the year. Bryce Eaton has 9.5 PPG with 2.6 RPG and 2.6 APG to lead Saint Peter’s in assists while Mouhamed Sow has 8.2 PPG with 5.3 RPG. Stephon Roberts has a team-high 6.7 RPG to lead the Peacocks in rebounding up to this point in the season. As a team, Saint Peter’s is averaging 65.1 PPG on 40.2% shooting from the field, 35% from behind the three-point line, and 71.7% from the foul line this season.

Rider Recap

The Rider Broncs come into this game looking to bounce back from a 75-64 loss to Quinnipiac in their last game to fall to 7-13 on the year. After this game, Rider will welcome Merrimack to town.

Broncs Drop Back-To-Back Games

T.J. Weeks Jr. leads the Broncs in scoring with 13.1 PPG and 5 RPG while Jay Alvarez has 12.8 PPG with 4.8 RPG and Tariq Ingraham has 10.7 PPG with a team-high 6.8 RPG to lead the Broncs on the glass while rounding out the group of double-digit scorers for Rider up to this point in the year. Zion Cruz has 8.4 PPG with 2.7 RPG while Ruben Rodriguez also has a team-high 3.1 APG to lead the Broncs in assists up to this point in the season. As a team, Rider is averaging 65.1 PPG on 41.1% shooting from the field, 29.3% from three, and 69.9% from the foul line this season.

Why the Rider Broncs will win

  • Saint Peter’s has lost each of its last five night games at Alumni Gymnasium.
  • Rider has won each of its last five night games against Saint Peter’s at Alumni Gymnasium.

Rider vs Saint Peter’s Prediction

I’m on Rider here. Saint Peter’s is arguably the best defensive team in the MAAC, but the problem here is that’s about where the good things end for Saint Peter’s. The offense is dreadful, and while Rider’s defense is far from earth-shattering, I think it’s good enough to hold down the Peacocks here. Saint Peter’s weakness defensively is allowing free throws, and Rider not only gets to the free throw line at the highest rate in the conference, but they hit their free throws at a high percentage as well. I think that Rider can do enough to get the win and cover at home here. Give me the Broncs.
