The Detroit Titans and the Robert Morris Colonials meet Monday in Horizon League college basketball action from Indiana Farmers Coliseum in Indianapolis. Here’s a Robert Morris vs. Detroit Mercy prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Robert Morris vs. Detroit Mercy pick.

Detroit Titans Betting Preview

The Titans were sitting at just 8-12 by the 20-game mark this season and coming off a rocky 2-5 run over the previous seven games. Following wins over Northern Kentucky and Milwaukee came a loss to Green Bay, then wins over Wright State, Youngstown State, Milwaukee, and Green Bay. Detroit would then fall to Robert Morris before two more wins over Oakland and Milwaukee for a 16-14 record in 30 games.

In the Milwaukee matchup on Wednesday, the Titans jumped out to a comfortable lead of 38-24 by the end of the first half. Detroit hit a 46-39 run the rest of the way and cruised to the victory in the end, 84-63. TJ Nadeau finished with 17 points with six boards and Tyler Spratt added 15 points. Orlando Lovejoy put up 13 points and six rebounds alongside three assists as well.

Robert Morris Colonials Betting Preview

Over on the Colonials’ side, they opened the year on an 11-5 run through their first 16 games. Robert Morris hit a 3-5 stretch over the next eight games, though, losing to Oakland, Fort Wayne, IUPUI, Green Bay, and Fort Wayne again. Since then it’s been wins over Wright State, Youngstown State, Cleveland State, Oakland, Wright State, Detroit, Cleveland State, and Youngstown State for a 22-10 record this year.

Matched up against Youngstown State in tournament action on Wednesday, the Colonials were coming back out onto the floor for the second half with a 28-23 advantage. Robert Morris got even better from there on a 40-30 stretch and took the eventual victory 68-53 as the game closed out. Ryan Prather was tops on the team with 24 points, seven assists, and two rebounds.

Robert Morris vs Detroit Mercy Prediction

I’ll lean toward Robert Morris. The Colonials got past Youngstown State last week without too much fuss, hitting 48.1 percent from the field with a 40-28 rebounding edge and just 32.1 percent shooting allowed on defense. Robert Morris did cough up 14 turnovers for 12 Penguins points, though. The Colonials are on a hot run these days; they’ve won eight straight games with 72 or more points scored in seven of those.

Robert Morris was able to win both meetings between these teams this year: 85-77 on the road on January 2 and 73-62 at home on February 25. In that latest win, the Colonials didn’t shoot very well (37.7 percent) and got outmuscled in the paint 28-24. That said, Robert Morris had a 37-32 rebounding edge and scored 23 points off 12 Titans turnovers. The Colonials have a lot to clean up for this tournament matchup, but I think they’ll pull it off.
