Saint Joseph’s vs Fordham 2/5/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Fordham Rams and the Saint Joseph’s Hawks meet in college basketball action from the Hagan Arena on Saturday afternoon.

The Fordham Rams will look to build on a 61-55 win over Rhode Island last time out that snapped a five-game losing skid. Darius Quisenberry leads the Rams in scoring with 17.6 PPG along with 4.3 RPG while Antonio Daye Jr. has 16.8 PPG with a team-high 3.3 APG and Chuba Ohams has 13.8 PPG with a team-high 11.4 RPG, averaging a double-double per game to lead the Rams on the glass and cap off the trio of double-digit scorers for Fordham up to this point in the season. As a team, Fordham is averaging 68.8 PPG on 40.6% shooting from the field, 31.8% from three and 73.1% from the foul line while allowing 68 PPG on 42.9% shooting from the field and 32.4% from three this season.

The Saint Joseph’s Hawks will look to rebound from an 80-69 loss at the hands of Saint Bonaventure last time out. Jordan Hall leads the Hawks in scoring and assists with 14.9 PPG and 6.5 APG while Taylor Funk has 14.5 PPG with 6.9 RPG and Ejike Obinna has 12.4 PPG with 7.3 RPG as well to lead the Hawks on the glass. Erik Reynolds II has 10.5 PPG as well for the Hawks to round out the group of double-digit scorers for Saint Joseph’s so far this season. As a team, Saint Joseph’s is averaging 70.2 PPG on 42.9% shooting from the field, 34% from three and 67.9% from the foul line while allowing 70.7 PPG on 43.1% shooting from the field and 35.8% from three this season.

Fordham is 9-3 ATS in their last 12 games overall and 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games as an underdog while the under is 4-0 in their last 4 road games. Saint Joseph’s is 6-2 ATS in their last 8 home games and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall while the under is 4-1 in their last 5 games as a favorite.

I get the allure of points with Fordham here as I’m not sure there’s a huge talent gap between these two teams. However, Fordham’s been struggling for a few weeks now prior to the win over Rhode Island and despite covers against some stiff competition, the offense is still not where you’d hope it would be if you’re backing the Rams, scoring 61 or less in four of their last six games. Saint Joseph’s is far from a world-beater, but the Hawks do their best work by far at home this season and I just think this is one of those spots where the Hawks get a win and cover here.
