Southern Utah vs CSU-Fullerton 12/10/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Cal State Fullerton Titans and the Southern Utah Thunderbirds meet Saturday in college basketball action from Michelob ULTRA Arena. CSU Fullerton is currently 4-5 this year. The Titans lost to USC in their last game. As for Southern Utah, they’re 6-4 overall and coming off a win over West Coast Baptist. CSU Fullerton went 4-1 over their first five games, beating Pepperdine, Vermont, Pacific and Westcliff along the way. The Titans have since lost four straight to Utah Tech, North Dakota, Seattle and USC, however. 

On Wednesday versus USC, the Titans scored just 21 points in the first half and 29 more in the second on the way to a 64-50 loss. The team’s only double-digit scorer was Latrell Wrightsell with 17 points and six rebounds. 

Over on the Southern Utah side, they were 3-1 to start the year, with a lone loss to New Mexico in the opener. The Thunderbirds hit a 3-3 stretch after that, losing to Kansas, Texas State and Montana State along the way. 

Southern Utah took on West Coast Baptist on Tuesday. The Thunderbirds didn’t have much trouble, scoring 59 in the first and 61 in the second for a 120-49 win. Parsa Fallah topped the team on 23 points with 17 rebounds. 

PICK: I’m going to stick with Southern Utah. We should have a pretty good matchup on our hands here, though. The Thunderbirds are on a pretty good run over their last four games, going 3-1 in that stretch. Southern Utah has also scored well with 69 or more points in each of those outings. As for CSU Fullerton, they didn’t shoot very well against USC (32.8 percent) but the team was able to hang on with rebounding (38) in the loss. The Titans haven’t gotten past 62 points in any of their last four games though, so if Southern Utah can get the offense going I think they’ll be fine on a cover.
