The Bison went into February with a shaky 9-12 overall record. North Dakota State has played better since then on a 6-4 run, however. The wins in that time have come versus South Dakota State, Kansas City, Omaha, Oral Roberts, St. Thomas-MN and North Dakota alongside losses to North Dakota, Denver, South Dakota and South Dakota State.

Matched up against the Jackrabbits last Saturday, the Bison were drilled in the first half 50-27. North Dakota State got better from there on a 34-28 run but still lost pretty badly 78-61 in the end. Jacari White was the team’s leading scorer on his 16 points with three rebounds.

St. Thomas-MN Tommies

Over on the Tommies’ side, they were 12-5 early this year but haven’t been able to string together more than two consecutive wins since then. St. Thomas-MN is 2-2 in the last four with losses to North Dakota State and South Dakota State before wins versus Omaha and Denver.

In their game versus Denver last weekend, the Tommies came out of the locker room with a 34-21 edge. St. Thomas-MN kept it rolling from there on a 49-37 stretch and took the victory 83-58 in blowout fashion. Parker Bjorklund was the top team scorer on 17 points with seven boards.

ANDREW’S FREE NORTH DAKOTA STATE VS ST THOMAS-MN PREDICTION

I’ll take a stab on North Dakota State. You could call this one either way, though. The Bison had a tough matchup versus South Dakota State in their last game, and it showed. North Dakota State shot well (48 percent) in that one, but also mustered just eight team assists and had 14 turnovers for 19 Jackrabbits points. The Bison have been below 69 points in three of their last four games, so they really could use a shot in the arm offense-wise.

In the last meeting between these teams on February 22, North Dakota State posted a 64-50 home win. The Bison bagged a dominant 39-20 rebounding advantage in that one and shot 47.8 percent from the field. If North Dakota State can keep the score relatively low here, I think they’ve got a good cover shot.
