Jacksonville Dolphins
The Dolphins were sitting at 10-11 in late January, then hit a 3-1 run with wins over Austin Peay, Central Arkansas and North Alabama. After a 1-4 stretch with losses to Kennesaw State, Queens, Stetson and Florida Gulf Coast, Jacksonville has since beaten Kennesaw State and Eastern Kentucky.
In the Eastern Kentucky tournament matchup on Tuesday, the Dolphins were down 34-33 going into the second half. Jacksonville hit a 34-31 run the rest of the way and powered out the comeback win 67-65. Bryce Workman was the leading team scorer on his 25 points and 12 rebounds.

Stetson Hatters
Over on the Stetson side, they were 13-10 over their first 23 games of the year. The Hatters won six of their next seven games over Central Arkansas, Bellarmine, Eastern Kentucky, Florida Gulf Coast, Kennesaw State and Jacksonville then took a loss to North Florida.
The Hatters were able to get back into the win column on Tuesday versus Queens in the tournament matchup. Stetson held a slim 38-36 edge going into the second half, then hit a 46-35 run the rest of the way for an 83-71 win. Jalen Blackmon was the top scorer with 21 points, while Stephan Swenson doubled up on 19 points with 12 rebounds and three assists.
ANDREW’S FREE JACKSONVILLE VS STETSON PREDICTION
I’ll lean toward Stetson here. The Hatters started a bit slowly versus Queens on Tuesday but eventually powered out the win thanks to 51.7 percent shooting. Stetson was solid on defense (38 percent shooting allowed) but also got out-rebounded pretty badly on the offensive boards (16-6). The Hatters won both matchups between these teams this year 71-55 at home on January 6 and 86-73 on the road February 28. In the latest meeting Stetson shot a nice 55.8 percent from the field but also got out-rebounded 15-7 on the offensive glass (and 31-26 overall). The Hatters need to watch that rebounding (or just make shots) but overall I think they’re in good shape.
