The Miami Hurricanes and the Syracuse Orange meet Saturday in college basketball action from the Carrier Dome. Miami is 21-9 on the year so far. The Hurricanes beat Boston College in their last outing. As for Syracuse, they’re currently 15-15 and coming off a loss to North Carolina. Miami lost a couple of consecutive games back in early February, but they’ve managed to avoid repeating that feat for the rest of the year. The Hurricanes are 2-2 in their last four games though, taking wins over Pittsburgh and Boston College in that time.

On Wednesday versus Boston College, the Hurricanes jumped out to a 40-25 lead after the first half. Miami scored 41 more points from there in an 81-70 win. Isaiah Wong was the leading scorer on 27 points and seven rebounds.

Over on the Syracuse side, they’ve only managed to win more than two consecutive games once so far this year so it’s been a bumpy ride. The Orange are currently riding a three-game losing streak to Notre Dame, Duke and North Carolina.

Matched up against North Carolina on Monday, the Orange came back from a 36-41 deficit at the break to force overtime. At the buzzer, Syracuse had a tough 79-88 loss, though. Cole Swider was the top team scorer on 36 points and three boards.

The Orange are 0-4 ATS in their last four overall and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 after a straight-up loss. The over is 8-2 in Syracuse’s last 10 after an ATS loss.
Meanwhile, the Hurricanes are 4-0 ATS in their last four road games and 5-1-1 ATS in their last seven overall. The over is 4-0 in Miami’s last four overall.

PICK: I’m going to take a stab on Miami. Probably not going near this one, though; it looks like trouble. In any case, the Hurricanes have gotten their offense working pretty well in these tough conference games lately. They’ve hit 70 or more points in seven straight appearances. Syracuse has been scoring well lately themselves though, so this one looks like a higher-total affair. Miami won 88-87 at home the last time these teams met up, and I expect another competitive matchup here. Should be a good one.
