Georgia Southern Eagles
The Eagles have had zero luck so far in the win column, and the team is giving up points in droves. Georgia Southern has fallen to Georgia Tech, Eastern Michigan, Jacksonville, Kennesaw State, East Carolina, Northeastern, Michigan State, Jacksonville and North Florida in succession this year.
Back on Saturday versus North Florida, the Eagles held a 34-27 lead by halftime. Georgia Southern was outscored 37-22 from there however and lost 64-56. Avantae Parker, Nate Brafford, Eren Banks and Tyren Moore each scored a team-high 10 points in the losing effort.

Tennessee Volunteers
Over on the Volunteers’ side, they got off to a nice start this year with wins over Tennessee Tech, Wisconsin, Wofford and Syracuse. Tennessee hit a gauntlet of tough teams in their next trio however, and fell to Purdue, Kansas and North Carolina before another victory versus George Mason.
The Volunteers had another difficult matchup back on Saturday versus Illinois. Tennessee was down 36-34 by the break, then hit a 52-43 run for the comeback victory 86-79. Topping the team was Dalton Knecht with 21 points and four rebounds, while Jonas Aidoo added 14 points and seven boards. Tennessee will meet NC State after this one.
ANDREW’S FREE GEORGIA SOUTHERN VERSUS TENNESSEE PREDICTION
I’ll probably stick with Tennessee. Probably also not touching this one, though. The Volunteers are almost certainly going to post a huge win here; the only question is the margin of victory. Tennessee is coming off a successful outing versus a good Illinois team, notching 45.0 percent shooting and a 43-34 rebounding advantage. Georgia Southern won’t be anywhere near that type of matchup, and we’ll likely see a ton of garbage time from the reserves in the second half. Tennessee is deep enough to keep the momentum going with their bench, and I think they’ll finish off the cover in the end.
