The Air Force Falcons and Wyoming Cowboys meet in a week 6 MWC college football contest from Falcon Stadium in Colorado Springs, Colorado on Saturday.
The Wyoming Cowboys will be out to build on a 24-22 win over UConn in their last game to improve to 4-0 on the year. Sean Chambers leads the Cowboys with 750 passing yards, 5 touchdowns and 3 picks on 58.2% passing while Xazavian Valladay has a team-high 340 rushing yards and 4 scores. Isaiah Neyor has a team-high 13 receptions for 227 yards while Ayden Eberhardt and Valladay each have 100+ receiving yards this season. Chad Muma leads Wyoming’s defense with 36 total tackles while Victor Jones has a team-high 3.5 sacks. Solomon Byrd and Ravontae Holt each have 2.5 sacks as well on the year.
The Air Force Falcons will be out to built on their 38-10 win over New Mexico last time out. Haaziq Daniels leads the Falcons with 354 passing yards, a touchdown and an interception on 45.5% passing while Brad Roberts leads Air Force’s option backs with 540 rushing yards. Daniels has 419 rushing yards while Micah Davis and Emmanuel Michel each have 200+ rushing yards. Davis also leads Air Force’s receivers with 188 receiving yards this season. On defense, Vince Sanford leads the Falcons with 25 total tackles including 21 solo tackles and 5.5 sacks this season.
Wyoming is 3-0-1 ATS in their last 4 games against a team with a winning record and 1-4-1 ATS in their last 6 road games while the under is 8-3 in their last 11 games in October. Air Force is 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games in October while the under is 6-1 in their last 7 games as a home favorite.
This has the potential to end up being a low-scoring game between two decent defenses. However, I’m leaning towards Air Force laying the points here, mainly bccause Wyoming isn’t the strongest offensive team against this solid Air Force defense. The only real strength for Wyoming is running the football and the Falcons are 14th-best in the country against the rush. On the other side, Air Force is the best in the country against the run and Wyoming struggles to stop it. I think the Falcons could run roughshod over the Cowboys here so I’ll lay it and play it with Air Force here.
