Southern Miss Golden Eagles Betting Preview

Southern Miss took a shutout loss to Kentucky in their first game of the 2024 season but would earn a victory the next week 35-10 versus Southeastern Louisiana. The next two games were losses 49-24 to South Florida and 44-7 versus Jacksonville State.

In the Louisiana game, the Eagles were down 17-13 at the break and couldn’t score from there in a 23-13 defeat. Tate Rodemaker had 140 passing yards. Rodrigues Clark (61 yards) and Kenyon Clay (10 yards; two touchdowns) led the running game in the loss.

Louisiana-Monroe vs Southern Miss Prediction

I’m going with LA-Monroe. The Warhawks were down early versus James Madison last weekend but rallied to post the eventual win. There’s plenty to improve on, though. LA-Monroe had a tepid 257 tota. yards (147 passing) with 15 first downs, eight penalties, and two turnovers in their victory.

As for Southern Miss, they had a pretty rough offensive outing against Louisiana in their latest loss. The Eagles posted just 177 yards (140 passing), 4.4 yards per play, eight first downs, 18:10 in time of possession, and 1-of-8 on third-down tries. Southern Miss needs a big shot in the arm this weekend and I don’t think they’ll get enough.
