LA Tech vs Southern Miss Prediction
I’ll stay with LA Tech I suppose. Probably not touching it, though. The Bulldogs are coming off another win last weekend, this time over Troy on the road. In that game LA Tech posted 351 total yards with 22 first downs and a sketchy 4-of-13 on third-down tries alongside two lost fumbles. The 10 penalties for 96 yards were pretty ugly as well. That said, the defense played great on 16 first downs, 3-of-15 on third downs and 262 yards allowed. LA Tech also came up with a whopping five takeaways. It shouldn’t be too hard for this squad to take care of business versus Southern Miss to keep their win streak going.
As for Southern Miss, they fell apart after halftime in their latest loss to a pretty good James Madison squad. The Eagles gave up 498 yards on defense alongside 27 first downs and zero takeaways in a 31-point defeat. On offense Southern Miss posted 354 total yards, 20 first downs and a pretty meager 3-of-14 on third downs. The 12 team penalties for 91 yards didn’t help either. The Eagles are giving up a truckload of points this year. They’ve surrendered 21 or more in eight straight games. LA Tech shouldn’t have too much trouble scoring in this one.

Southern Miss Golden Eagles Betting Preview
The Eagles haven’t had the easiest campaign this season. Southern Miss beat Alcorn State in their first outing but then hit a losing streak versus Auburn, UConn, Tulane, Troy and Arkansas State in the next five. The Golden Eagles would then get consecutive wins over Louisiana and LA-Monroe, but then fell to James Madison. Over nine games so far that gives Southern Miss a rough 3-6 overall record in the books.
Last Thursday versus James Madison, the Eagles weren’t in too bad of shape at halftime, trailing by a modest 16-14 margin. Southern Miss gave up a ton of scoring in the second half though, eventually limping to a 54-23 defeat. QB John White was 22-of-35 for 266 yards and a touchdown. Steven Robinson led the rush with 15 carries for 54 yards and one TD while Kaden Saunders had six catches for 122 yards in the losing effort for the Golden Eagles.
LA Tech Bulldogs Betting Preview
Over on the Bulldogs’ side, they started out the year with a blowout win over Northwestern State. The next two games were losses though, versus LSU and Baylor. Since then Louisiana Tech has hit a win streak, taking out Army, Louisiana, LA-Monroe, Old Dominion, South Alabama and Troy. Over nine games so far this year that gives the Bulldogs a 7-2 record in the books for their troubles.
Matched up against Troy last weekend, the Bulldogs were down briefly in the first quarter before rattling off three scores for a 20-10 halftime edge. LA Tech kept it going in the second half and eventually rolled to a 41-17 victory on the road. QB Blake Baker was 16-of-19 for 177 yards and a TD. Rayshun Hurt led the rush on 29 yards from seven carries.
