The Miami Hurricanes and the Syracuse Orange meet Saturday in college football action from JMA Wireless Dome. Here’s a Syracuse vs Miami prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Syracuse vs Miami pick.

Miami Hurricanes Betting Preview

The Hurricanes’ campaign began with a flurry of wins. Miami took out Florida, Florida A&M, Ball State, South Florida, Virginia Tech, California, Louisville, Florida State and Duke before finally losing to Georgia Tech in game ten.

In their matchup with Wake Forest, the Hurricanes didn’t take off until late in the game. Miami was up 20-14 going into the fourth quarter, then scored 22 unanswered points for a 42-14 win. QB Cameron Ward posted 280 yards with two TDs and one interception. Jordan Lyle carried seven times for 115 yards and a score.

Syracuse Orange Betting Preview

Over on the Syracuse side, they went 5-1 over their first six with wins over Ohio, Georgia Tech, Holy Cross, UNLV and NC State. The Orange went 2-2 over the next four with losses to Pittsburgh and Boston College mixed with wins over Virginia Tech and California.

On Saturday versus UConn, the Orange scored points in every quarter—and gave up points in every quarter—during a 31-24 win. Kyle McCord finished with 470 yards and two scores. Leading the rush was LeQuint Allen with 20 carries for 58 yards and a TD of his own.

Syracuse vs Miami Prediction

I’m going with the Hurricanes. Miami took a while to get going against a struggling Wake Forest team over the weekend, but eventually mustered 508 yards (280 passing), 7.3 yards per play and 27 first downs. The Hurricanes did have a couple of turnovers and committed seven penalties, though. That said, Miami has 36 or more points in all but one game this year (23 versus Georgia Tech in a five-point loss), so their offense should certainly show up here.

As for Syracuse, they ended up with 538 yards (470 passing) and 25 first downs in their shootout win over UConn. Syracuse has posted 31 or more points in four straight games themselves (a 3-1 run), so I wouldn’t be surprised to see this one close most of the way. In the end Miami is the much better team, though.
