The Tulane Green Wave meet the Morgan State Bears Saturday in week 2 college football action at Legion Field. The Morgan State Bears need a bounce back showing after getting shutout by Towson. The Tulane Green Wave look for a win after losing their opener to Oklahoma.

The Morgan State Bears have lost 10 of their last 13 games overall. Duce Taylor is completing 33.3 percent of his passes for 68 yards, zero touchdowns and zero interceptions. Thomas Marcus and David Adeleke have combined for 76 receiving yards on five catches while Jabriel Johnson has one reception. The Morgan State Bears ground game is averaging 134 yards per contest, and Jairus Grissom leads the way with 35 yards on five carries. Defensively, Morgan State is allowing 31 points and 412 yards per game. Jae’Veyon Morton leads the Morgan State Bears with nine tackles, Kalen Jennings has one sack and Jeremiah Bryant has one interception.

The Tulane Green Wave look to avoid their first 0-2 start since the 2015 CFB season. Michael Pratt is completing 61.4 percent of his passes for 296 yards, three touchdowns and zero interceptions. Tyrick James and Shae Wyatt have combined for 151 receiving yards on 11 catches while Jaetavian Toles has two receptions. The Tulane Green Wave ground game is averaging 100 yards per contest, and Pratt leads the way with 34 yards and one touchdown. Defensively, Tulane is allowing 40 points and 436 yards per game. Dorian Williams leads the Tulane Green Wave with eight tackles, Noah Seiden has 0.5 sacks and Macon Clark has one interception.

This is a truckload of points to lay with Tulane and almost makes me want to avoid this game completely. However, Morgan State has played just one game since the 2019 season and was just shutout by Towson. The Tulane Green Wave just took Oklahoma down to the wire and had their chances to beat a national title contender. Maybe that loss creates a letdown spot here, but I doubt it, as Tulane should want to build on such an effort. I’ll lay the chalk with the Green Wave, but there’s better options out there.
