The Long Island University Sharks come into this game looking to pull off a massive upset after losing their season opener at the hands of FIU by a final score of 48-10. Camden Orth threw for 197 yards and a touchdown on 15 of 30 passing while also rushing for 22 yards on 6 carries. Jonathan DeBique added a team-high 7 carries for 34 rushing yards while Derick Eugene led LIU’s receiving group with 7 catches for 115 yards and a touchdown. A lot of times, you don’t want to go with the “this team beat this team so they’ll beat this team” or the “they lost to this team by this much so they have to lose by more to this team because team B is better,” but I think that’s what we have here in this matchup. LIU was obliterated by an FIU team that I’m not high on whatsoever this season and now have to take on a frustrated West Virginia team that just lost to Maryland, despite having a ton of chances to get a win in that game. I think the Mountaineers come out and put the boots to LIU in this one, so give me the Mountaineers.
