CPL 2021: Barbados Royals vs. St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots 8/26/21 T20 Cricket Prediction

Barbados Royals vs St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots
August 26, 2021 7:00 pm EDT

Barbados Royals take on the St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots in the second of the first day double header in CPL 2021 playing on Thursday August 26th, 2021 at Warner Park, Basseterre in St. Kitts.

St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots are the home side and will look to bless their native fans with a winning start. In last year’s edition they finished last winning only one game out of 10 matches but with that in mind they will be eager to change their fortunes. The Patriots will be showcasing a very strong lineup which honestly in my opinion is one of the best sides in the tournament with the likes of veteran stars in: Chris Gayle, Dwayne Bravo, Rayad Emrit and Ravi Bopara and will be accompanied by the impressive Fabian Allen, the army man himself, Sheldon Cottrell, the mighty force of Evin Lewis and the young talented Dominic Drakes. St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots will feel that this is their year to reach the Semifinal stage and perhaps take it all the way, only once have they reached the coveted final but haven’t tasted success as yet. Will they apply themselves in a way which takes them to glory or will they fail again?

Barbados Tridents are now the Barbados Royals. Many fans were shocked by the decision but also they believe that maybe this change will assist in the change of success as they finished fifth last year after winning in 2019. A lot of the stars that donned the Tridents kit in previous editions will do so yet again, these stars are: Jason Holder, Shai Hope, Johnson Charles, Kyle Mayers, Ashley Nurse, Raymon Reifer, Hayden Walsh Jr, Justin Greaves and Joshua Bishop. Nyeem Young is the young talented West Indian that will return to the side with international powerhouses such as: Glenn Phillips, Thisara Perera, Mohammad Amir and Jake Lintott. The Royals are expected to do well this year and this game is the perfect opportunity to set the tone and build momentum going forward in the tournament, leave last year’s trials where they are and seek towards the potential triumph that they are eager to attain.

Is this a rejuvenated Barbados squad or will they be another lackluster team? Two games in one amazing opening day of CPL, how can it get any better? The biggest party in sport will be live for the cricketing fans to enjoy and this second will surely be just as entertaining and enterprising as the first. Barbados Royals has the name that teams of old would fear but St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots have the players that are to be feared. With that being said, I expect St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots to dominate this game and win comprehensively. The Barbados team is full of talent but the St. Kitts Patriots are a complete team, and I expect them to dominate this match and they will be a team to beat going forward.
