International Cricket: England vs. Pakistan 7/16/21 T20 Cricket Prediction

Pakistan’s tour of the England continues tomorrow with the first T20 International match in the 3-match series being played atNottingham. The match will start on Friday July 16th, 2021 at 1:30pm EST. 

Pakistan missed the mark in the ODI series losing all 3 matches; A strong performance in the last game of that series was the one true glimpse of their potential but alas, they still folded to the English lads. England see the return of their white-ball captain, Eoin Morgan alongside other senior players with Saqib Mahmood and Lewis Gregory being rewarded for the impressive appearances in the last series bygetting the call up for the T20I matches.

England, despite having their situations off the field, was still able to be competitive on the pitch. A fresh group pieced together at the last minute was almost a recipe for disaster but lads showed up at regular intervals to ensure the prowess of the side prevailed. With the senior guys back and Eoin Morgan’s return to the helm, England will be eager to continue this amazing run of form as the number one ranked T20 team in the world. Ben Stokes who captained the ODI side in Morgan’s absence will rest in this series to recovery from his finger injury. Saqib Mahmood and Lewis Gregory will definitely strengthen the bowling, they have not played for England sin this format since last year against the same opponents.

Pakistan is the 4^th ranked team in the world, so what took place in the ODI series they need to put behind them and look ahead. Babar Azam, Pakistan’s captain, finally got amongst the runs in the last ODI game, he is an asset to Pakistan’s success and will need to continue in that same vein along with Mohammed Rizwan who has been inconsistent thus far on tour. Hasan Ali, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Usman Qadir will spearhead the bowling attack, their impact can determine how this series will go. Does Pakistan have it in them or will they surrender yet again?

A new series filled with a positive outlook from both teams awaits us. England are the superior team but will Pakistan cause an early upset in the series? Pakistan will surely go all guns blazing while England will seek to reassert their position as the top ranked team in T20Is and with that said, I expect a win by the Englishmen to go one up in this highly anticipated contest.
