The 2021 Australian Big Bash League continues with the Qualifier match between the Sydney Sixers and the Perth Scorchers. The match will be played at the Manuka Oval in Canberra on Saturday January 20th, 2021 at approximately 4:30am EST. This a Qualifier match meaning that the winner goes to the Final while the loser gets another shot at advancing. Who will win here?

The Sydney Sixers had an outstanding tournament and finished at the top of the table. They won their previous match convincingly over the Melbourne Stars and their confidence will be sky-high heading into this clash. They have an outstanding batting lineup, all of whom seem to be in good form at the moment. Their key batsman is Jordan Silk with 155 runs in his past 3 innings, and Sean Abbott has been in great form with the ball. They are the defending champions and will be backing themselves to repeat. 

The Perth Scorchers had a rough start to the competition but recovered nicely to finish second in the standings. They are perhaps the best team at the moment in terms of current form and will definitely be backing themselves here. They have some extremely powerful batsmen like Jason Roy, Colin Munroe and Mitchell Marsh who will be looking to set a large total, knowing how dangerous the Sixer’s batting lineup is. Jhye Richardson is their outstanding bowler and will lead their attack. He is in great form and was recently called up to the Australia side. 

This match has the potential to be very close here. They both have very strong batting sides and we are expecting fireworks here, especially since this ground typically favors the batsmen. I am going to pick the Perth Scorchers to win this match. The Sixers topped the table but Perth seems to have a more well-rounded squad with a very aggressive style of play. If everything is clicking for them they have huge upside so I am giving them the edge. Perth Scorchers to get the victory here and advance to the BBL Final at the expense of the reigning champions.
