International Cricket: England vs. Pakistan 7/13/21 ODI Cricket Prediction

England vs Pakistan
July 13, 2021 6:00 am EDT

Pakistan’s tour of the England resumes tomorrow with the third and final ODI match being at Birmingham. The match will start on Tuesday July 13th, 2021 at 8:00am EST.

England have already won the series 2-0 and will be looking for the sweep of the Pakistanis. Who would have thought that This England side who’s players were called up blast minute would provide so many problems for a Pakistan team who have gelled together so beautifully of late? Pakistan will not want to go into the T20 series without a win under their belt so far on this tour, so what will it be?

England were not as dominant in the second game as they were in the first with Dawid Malan and Zak Crawley not producing the heroics they displayed in the first encounter. Phil Salt and James Vince however were able to notch up well played fifties with 60 and 56 respectively while bowlers Lewis Gregory (40) and Brydon Chase (31) also chipped in to help get them to a respectable 247 all out. An impressive bowling performance from England saw them win by 52 runs on the back of Lewis Gregory’s 3 wicket haul, he had quite the day earning him the player of the match award. England have been quite consistent and they have found the recipe for success and despite not being able to utilize their main cast, the guys who were seen as replacements have really made a name for themselves in the selectors’ minds. Can they finish the job come Tuesday?

Much was expected of Pakistan in this series, they themselves know that this has not been a true representation of how they play the game. Babar Azam, their captain, has been unable to put together an innings to help guide his guys from a batting standpoint in the first two matches. Saud Shakeel with 56 and Hasan Ali who scored 31 were the only players to make it pass 25 and with partnerships not developing how they would’ve liked, they succumbed to their opponents. Credit must be given to their bowling unit, namely Hasan Ali who produced a stellar displaying of fast bowling taking 5 wickets in the innings while others facilitated to ensure England did not run away and post a mammoth score. Can Pakistan put together an all-round a performance to leave the series with some dignity or will they once again fold to the English

We have seen two sides of the coin with these sides, England showing that their second unit can be just as effective and efficient as the first whereas Pakistan have showed that they have quite a bit of work to do in the offseason as it relates to the ODI format of the game. England has shown that they are simply better as a unit despite their inexperience, and I’m not seeing a different result happening here. England to win yet again, to win the series 3-0.
