This week, the PGA Tour presents Draftkings golf fans with the 2025 American Express. Let’s take a look at this week’s event from a DFS perspective.

Before I dive into my Draftkings player selections for this tournament let’s review the golf courses the field will play and the key player statistics that I think are the most vital to a golfer’s success at this week’s 2025 American Express.

Where will the 2025 American Express be played?

This week’s 2025 American Express is a pro-am tournament that will take place on three different golf courses over the course of a four-day period. The golf courses the field will play this week are La Quinta Country Club, PGA West Tournament Course, and the PGA West TPC Stadium Course.

The entire field will play all three courses over the course of the first three days of competition. The final round will occur on the PGA West TPC Stadium Course.

Will the American Express have a traditional cut after two rounds?

The 2025 American Express features a field of 156 golfers. This event will have a traditional cut upon the completion of two rounds. The top 65 and ties will make the cut.

American Express Key Player Statistics

  • GIR (greens in regulation)
  • Strokes Gained: Approach
  • Strokes Gained: Tee to Green
  • Birdie or Better Percentage
  • Strokes Gained: Par Fives
  • Bogey Avoidance

I wanted to emphasize that the purpose of this article is not to provide an exact DFS lineup.

Having stated that, this article will provide multiple player options in an effort to assist the reader in generating a unique lineup that will hopefully have the potential to win a DraftKings GPP (guaranteed prize pool) contest!

2025 American Express Draftkings Picks

Eric Cole $8,300

The talented American arrives at this week’s event in rather good form. Eric Cole has compiled three top 15 finishes in his last four tournaments played on the PGA Tour, including a fifth-place result at last week’s 2025 Sony Open.

Due to Eric Cole’s impressive result at the 2025 Sony Open I decided to take a hard look at the relevant player statistics for the event to see how Cole fared relative to the field.

Upon the completion of four rounds of competitive play at the 2025 Sony Open, in relation to the field, Eric Cole ranked 20th in GIR (greens in regulation-73.6%), second in putting average (1.585), first in total birdies made (23) and seventh in bogey avoidance (5).

Eric Cole has posted a quality result at this week’s PGA Tour event in the past. More specifically, Cole finished 21st at the 2024 American Express.

Will Zalatoris $8,400

Will Zalatoris has accumulated four top 26 finishes in his last five events played (PGA and DP World Tours combined), including a 13th place result at the 2024 BMW Championship in August. Zalatoris finished sixth at the 2022 American Express.

Nick Dunlap $8,500

Nick Dunlap is undoubtedly one of the best young golfers on the PGA Tour. Having stated that, how has Dunlap played recently?

Since the beginning of July, Nick Dunlap has played ten tournaments on the PGA Tour. In those ten events just mentioned, Dunlap compiled five top 28 finishes, including a win at the 2024 Barracuda Championship.

Additionally, Nick Dunlap won the 2024 American Express.

Harry Hall $8,800

Harry Hall has tallied five top 14 finishes in his last six events played on the PGA Tour, including an eighth-place result at the 2025 Sentry two weeks ago.

Last season, Harry Hall captured his first win of his professional career at the 2024 ISCO Championship. Clearly, Hall can finish a golf tournament down the stretch.

Additional golfers I like to perform well this week (Draftkings price noted): Justin Thomas $10,400: Sam Burns $9,800: Sungjae Im $10,300: Adam Hadwin $7,700: Tom Hoge $7,800: J.J. Spaun $8,600: Max Greyserman $9,200.
