January 30, 2025 11:35 am EDT
This Thursday, Draftkings golf fans will be presented with the first round of the 2025 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. Let’s take a look at the first round of this prestigious tournament from a DFS perspective.
Before I discuss my Draftkings player selections for this week’s PGA Tour event let’s review where the first round of the 2025 Pebble Beach Pro-Am will be played.
The 2025 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am will be played on two different golf courses over a four-day period. This tournament will be contested on the following two golf courses: Pebble Beach Golf Links: Spyglass Hill.
All golfers in the field will play each course in the first two rounds. The third and final rounds will be played exclusively at Pebble Beach Golf Links.
I wanted to emphasize that the purpose of this article is not to provide an exact DFS lineup.
Having stated that, this article will provide multiple player options in an effort to assist the reader in generating a unique lineup that will hopefully have the potential to win a DraftKings GPP (guaranteed prize pool) contest!
For those readers that are not aware, the rules and scoring for DraftKings single round showdown contests are vastly different than the traditional classic contests offered by the platform.
If you need to review the specific rules for the single round showdown contests feel free to check out the DraftKings website.
Here are my DraftKings player selections for the first round of the 2025 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
2025 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am First Round Picks
Justin Thomas $9,900
The talented American has tallied eight top 30 finishes in his last 12 tournaments on the PGA Tours, including a second-place result at the 2024 ZOZO Championship in October.
Thomas certainly checks the box for me when it comes to key player statistics. Thomas is currently ranked 17th in strokes gained approach (0.977), third in overall scoring average (67.25), 15th in GIR (greens in regulation-78.47%), tenth in scrambling (74.19%) and third in overall putting average (1.619) on the PGA Tour.
Justin Thomas has posted a quality result at this week’s PGA Tour event in the past. More specifically, Thomas finished sixth at the 2024 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
Adam Scott $8,400
Last month, Adam Scott fired a final round 68 at the 2024 DP World Championship en route to an eventual third place result. Scott also finished 15th at the 2025 Sentry earlier this month.
Cameron Davis $6,600
Cameron Davis has accumulated two top 18 finishes in his last three events played on the PGA Tour, including an 18th place result at the 2025 American Express two weeks ago.
J.J. Spaun $7,000
J.J. Spaun has compiled two top 15 finishes in his last three tournaments played on the PGA Tour, including a third-place result at the 2025 Sony Open earlier this month.
Due to J.J. Spaun’s impressive result at the 2025 Sony Open I decided to take a hard look at the relevant player statistics for the event to see how Spaun fared relative to the field.
Upon the completion of four rounds of competitive play at the 2025 Sony Open, in relation to the field, J.J. Spaun ranked first in GIR (greens in regulation-84.7%), 19th in putting average (1.721), 11th in total birdies made (19) and second in bogey avoidance (4).
In summary, I fully expect J.J. Spaun to continue his outstanding play in Thursday’s first round of the 2025 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
Additional golfers I like to perform well in the first round (Draftkings price noted): Ludvig Aberg $9,700: Jason Day $8,900: Sam Burns $9,000: Tom Hoge $7,500: Keegan Bradley $8,500: Patrick Cantlay $9,500.
