2025 Baycurrent Classic
October 8, 2025 5:45 pm EDT

This Thursday morning, Draftkings golf fans will be presented with the first round of the 2025 Baycurrent Classic. Let’s take a look at the first round of this tournament from a DFS perspective.

Before I discuss my Draftkings first round picks for this week’s event let’s review where the 2025 Baycurrent Classic will be played.

The 2025 Baycurrent Classic will be played at the Yokohama Country Club. This track is a par 71 that measures approximately 7,317 yards.

*Nicolas Echavarria won the 2024 Baycurrent Classic with a four round cumulative score of 20 under par.

I wanted to emphasize that the purpose of this article is not to provide an exact DFS lineup.

Having stated that, this article will provide multiple player options in an effort to assist the reader in generating a unique lineup that will hopefully have the potential to win a DraftKings GPP (guaranteed prize pool) contest! Keep that in mind as you construct your lineups for this DFS slate.

For those readers that are not aware, the rules and scoring for DraftKings single round showdown contests are vastly different than the traditional classic contests offered by the platform.

If you need to review the specific rules for the single round showdown contests feel free to check out the DraftKings website.

Here are my DraftKings picks for the first round of the 2025 Baycurrent Classic.

Draftkings First Round Picks

Kurt Kitayama $9,600

Since the beginning of July, Kurt Kitayama has played six events on the PGA Tour. In those six tournaments just mentioned, Kitayama compiled five top 20 finishes, including a win at 2025 3M Open in July.

Due to Kurt Kitayama’s quality win at the 2025 3M open, I decided to take a hard look at the relevant player statistics for the event to determine how Kitayama fared relative to the field.

Upon the completion of four rounds of competitive play at the 2025 3M Open, in relation to the field, Kurt Kitayama ranked 13th in driving distance (314.6), seventh in GIR (greens in regulation-83.3%), seventh in putts per GIR (1.617), first in total birdies made (32) and tenth in bogey avoidance (9).

Additionally, Kurt Kitayama finished fifth at the 2024 Baycurrent Classic.

Max Homa $8,700

Max Homa arrives at this week’s tournament on the heels two consecutive top 19 finishes on the PGA Tour, including a 19th place result at the 2025 Procore Championship last month.

Ryo Hisatsune $7,400

Two weeks ago, Ryo Hisatsune fired a third round 69 at the 2025 Procore Championship en route to an eventual 13th place finish.

It is noteworthy that Ryo Hisatsune has played well at this week’s PGA Tour event in the past. Let me be more specific. Hisatsune finished sixth at the 2023 Baycurrent Classic.

Takumi Kanaya $7,300

Takumi Kanaya has tallied two top 21 finishes in his last four events played on the PGA Tour, including a seventh place result at the 2025 3M Open.

Beau Hossler $7,000

The talented American has compiled four top 15 finishes in his last tournaments played on the PGA Tour, including a fourth place result at the 2025 Barracuda Championship in July. Hossler also finished second at the 2023 Baycurrent Classic.

Mac Meissner $7,200

Last week, Mac Meissner shot a final round 69 at the 2025 Sanderson Farms Championship on his way to a rather impressive 14th place finish.

Additional golfers I like to perform well in the first round of the 2025 Baycurrent Classic (Draftkings price noted): Hideki Matsuyama $10,600: Garrick Higgo $8,800: Min Woo Lee $8,600: Nicolas Echavarria $7,100: Keith Mitchell $7,000 Keita Nakaajima $6,900.
