Draftkings BMW Championship First Round Picks 8/14/25

This Thursday morning, Draftkings golf fans will be presented with the first round of the 2025 BMW Championship. Let’s take a look at the first round of this tournament from a DFS perspective.

Before I discuss my Draftkings player selections for this week’s event let’s review where the first round of the 2025 BMW Championship will be played.

The 2025 BMW Championship will be played at Caves Valley Golf Club in Owings Mills, Maryland. This course is a par 70 that measures approximately 7,601 yards.

Keegan Bradley won the 2024 BMW Championship with a cumulative four round score of 12 under par.

I wanted to emphasize that the purpose of this article is not to provide an exact DFS lineup.

Having stated that, this article will provide multiple player options in an effort to assist the reader in generating a unique lineup that will hopefully have the potential to win a DraftKings GPP (guaranteed prize pool) contest! Keep that in mind as you construct your lineups for this DFS slate.

Here are my DraftKings picks for the first round of the 2025 BMW Championship.

Draftkings First Round Picks

Tommy Fleetwood $10,300

Since the beginning of February, Tommy Fleetwood has played 15 events on the PGA Tour, in those 15 tournaments just noted, Fleetwood amassed ten top 21 finishes, including a second-place result at the 2025 Travelers Championship four weeks ago.

Tommy Fleetwood is currently ranked third in overall strokes gained (1.492), third in strokes gained tee to green (1.235), ninth in strokes gained approach (0.663), 16th in par four scoring average (3.98) and third in overall scoring average (69.59) on the PGA Tour.

The talented Englishman certainly checks the box for me when it comes to previous event history. Let me be more specific. Since 2018, Tommy Fleetwood has played this week’s FedEx Cup playoff event four times. In those four tournaments just noted, Fleetwood amassed three top 11 finishes, including a fifth-place result at the 2024 BMW Championship.

Patrick Cantlay $9,800

The 2021 FedEx Cup winner has compiled two top 12 finishes in his last four tournaments played on the PGA Tour, including a ninth-place result at last week’s 2025 FedEx Cup St. Jude Championship.

Due to Patrick Cantlay’s quality finish at the 2025 FedEx St. Jude Championship, I decided to take a hard look at the relevant player statistics for the event to determine how Cantlay fared relative to the field.

Upon the completion of four rounds of competitive play at the 2025 FedEx St. Jude Championship, in relation to the field, Patrick Cantlay ranked fourth in GIR (greens in regulation-68.1%) and 11th in total birdies made (18).

It is noteworthy that Cantlay has played well at this week’s PGA Tour event multiple times previously. More specifically, Cantlay won the FedEx St. Jude Championship in 2021 and 2022.

Rickie Fowler $7,500

Since the beginning of beginning of May, Rickie Fowler has played 11 events on the PGA Tour, in those 11 tournaments just mentioned, Fowler tallied six top 18 finishes, including a an impressive sixth-place result at the 2025 FedEx St. Jude Championship.
