This Thursday morning, Draftkings golf fans will be presented with the first round of the 2025 Cognizant Classic in the Palm Beaches. Let’s take a look at the first round of this tournament from a DFS perspective.

Before I discuss my Draftkings player selections for this week’s PGA Tour event let’s review where the first round of the 2025 Cognizant Classic in the Palm Beaches will be played.

The 2025 Cognizant Classic in the Palm Beaches will be played at the Champions Course at PGA National Resort and Spa in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. The golf course is a par 71 that measures approximately 7,167 yards.

*Austin Eckroat won the 2024 Cognizant Classic in the Palm Beaches with a cumulative four round score of 17 under par.

I wanted to emphasize that the purpose of this article is not to provide an exact DFS lineup.

Having stated that, this article will provide multiple player options in an effort to assist the reader in generating a unique lineup that will hopefully have the potential to win a DraftKings GPP (guaranteed prize pool) contest!

For those readers that are not aware, the rules and scoring for DraftKings single round showdown contests are vastly different than the traditional classic contests offered by the platform.

If you need to review the specific rules for the single round showdown contests feel free to check out the DraftKings website.

Here are my DraftKings player selections for the first round of the 2025 Cognizant Classic in the Palm Beaches.

2025 Cognizant Classic in the Palm Beaches First Round Picks

Russell Henley $10,600

Russell Henley arrives at this week’s event in rather good form. Let me be more specific. Henley has compiled two top ten finishes in his last three tournaments played on the PGA Tour, including a fifth-place result at the 2025 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am four weeks ago.

Russell Henley fits the course perfectly from a player statistic perspective. Henley is currently ranked 12th in driving accuracy (69.30%), first in proximity to the hole (32’7), 12th in overall putting average (1.688) and 22nd in strokes gained approach (0.582) on the PGA Tour.

The talented American has certainly played exceptionally well at this week’s PGA Tour event in the past. Since 2002, Russell Henley has played the Cognizant Classic in the Palm Beaches ten times. In those ten tournaments just mentioned, Henley has amassed six top 24 finishes, including a win at the 2002 Cognizant Classic in the Palm Beaches.

Min Woo Lee $9,200

Min Woo Lee has tallied two top 17 finishes in his last three events played on the PGA Tour, including a 12th place result at the 2025 Waste Management Phoenix Open earlier this month.

Brian Harman $7,600

Brian Harman has accumulated three top 25 finishes in his last five tournaments played on the PGA Tour, including a 17th-place result at the 2025 Genesis Invitational two weeks ago.

Harman checks the box for me when it comes to key player statistics. Harman is currently ranked 25th in GIR (greens in regulation-73.19%), 20th in scrambling 67.57%), 11th in sand save percentage (75%), ninth in bogey avoidance (10.63%) and first in scrambling inside ten yards (100%) on the PGA Tour.

It is also noteworthy that Brian Harman’s tee time is bright and early on Thursday morning. That is never a bad thing.

Brian Harman has posted a quality result on the Champions Course at the PGA National Resort previously. Harman finished 11th at the 2015 Cognizant Classic in the Palm Beaches.

Additional golfers I like to perform well in the first round (Draftkings price noted): Shane Lowry $10,400: Daniel Berger $10,000: Luke Clanton $7,800: Ryan Gerard $7,400: Kevin Roy $7,100: Jacob Bridgeman $6,700.
