2025 Genesis Scottish Open
July 10, 2025 2:00 am EDT

This Thursday morning, Draftkings golf fans will be presented with the first round of the 2025 Genesis Scottish Open. Let’s take a look at the first round of this tournament from a DFS perspective.

Before I discuss my Draftkings player selections for this week’s PGA Tour event let’s review where the first round of the 2025 Genesis Scottish Open will be played.

The 2025 Genesis Scottish Open will be played at the Renaissance Club in North Berwick, East Lothian, Scotland. The golf course is a par 70 that measures approximately 7,237 yards.

The Renaissance Club has been the host golf course for the Genesis Scottish Open since 2019.

Robert MacIntyre won the 2024 Genesis Scottish Open with a cumulative four round score of 18 under par.

I wanted to emphasize that the purpose of this article is not to provide an exact DFS lineup.

Having stated that, this article will provide multiple player options in an effort to assist the reader in generating a unique lineup that will hopefully have the potential to win a DraftKings GPP (guaranteed prize pool) contest! Keep that in mind as you construct your lineups for this DFS slate.

For those readers that are not aware, the rules and scoring for DraftKings single round showdown contests are vastly different than the traditional classic contests offered by the platform.

If you need to review the specific rules for the single round showdown contests feel free to check out the DraftKings website.

Here are my DraftKings picks for the first round of the 2025 Genesis Scottish Open.

Draftkings First Round Picks

Tommy Fleetwood $10,000

Since the beginning of February, Tommy Fleetwood has played 13 events on the PGA Tour, in those 13 tournaments just noted, Fleetwood has amassed nine top 21 finishes, including a second-place result at the 2025 Travelers Championship two weeks ago.

Fleetwood is currently ranked third in overall strokes gained (1.414), fifth in strokes gained tee to green (1.150), eighth in strokes gained approach (0.622), third in overall scoring average (69.86) and 15th in par four scoring average (3.98) on the PGA Tour.

The talented Englishman certainly checks the box for me from a previous event/course history perspective. Let me be more specific. Since 2020, Tommy Fleetwood has played the Genesis Scottish Open five times. In those five tournaments just mentioned, Fleetwood amassed three top six finishes, including a fourth-place result at the 2022 Gensis Scottish Open.

What did we learn from the data just presented? Clearly, Tommy Fleetwood is playing at a high-level entering Thursday’s first round. With that said, I am backing Fleetwood as my lead DFS selection for the first round of the 2025 Genesis Scottish Open.

Ryan Fox $8,800

Ryan Fox arrives at this week’s event on the heels of four consecutive top 20 finishes on the PGA Tour, including a win at the 2025 RBC Canadian Open five weeks ago. Additionally, Fox finished 12th at the 2024 Genesis Scottish Open.

Victor Perez $7,500

Victor Perez has tallied two top 19 finishes in his last four events played on the PGA Tour, including a ninth-place result at the 2025 RBC Canadian Open.

Due to Victor Perez’s quality result at the RBC Canadian Open I decided to take a hard look at the player data from the event to see how Perez fared relative to the field.

Upon the completion of four rounds of competitive play at the 2025 RBC Canadian Open, in relation to the field, Victor Perez ranked second in GIR (greens in regulation-86.1%), 13th in total birdies made (20) and 12th in bogey avoidance (6).

Additional golfers I like to perform well in the first round of the 2025 Genesis Scottish Open (Draftkings price noted): Scottie Scheffler $12,900: Matt Fitzpatrick $8,900: Harris English $7,900: Matteo Manassero $7,100.
