June 25, 2025 9:45 pm EDT

Major League Baseball presents Draftkings baseball fans with a National League matchup featuring the Miami Marlins and the San Francisco Giants. Let’s take a look at this MLB game from a DFS perspective.

Before we dive into the Miami Marlins vs. San Francisco Giants game let’s review the rules for the Draftkings MLB single game showdown contest.

Draftkings Single Game Showdown Contest Rules

You have $50,000 to utilize on five players from either team. However, one of those players will be designated as your team captain. The captain accumulates 1.5 times the standard fantasy points. Additionally, the captain is 1.5 times the standard cost of the flex position.

The remaining four players in your lineup will receive the standard fantasy points. Having stated that, it is highly important for you to identify the correct player for your captain position if you hope to win a large field DFS GPP (guaranteed prize pool) showdown contest.

If you have additional questions regarding the rules for the single game showdown contest, I recommend that you check out the Draftkings website for more details.

*I recommend that all readers review the starting lineups for both teams prior to setting your DFS lineup for this one game slate.

Here are my Draftkings picks for tonight’s Marlins vs. Giants matchup.

Draftkings MLB Showdown Picks

Captain-Logan Webb, Starting Pitcher, San Francisco Giants $12,000

On Wednesday night, Major League Baseball presents the second game of a three-game National League series featuring the Miami Marlins and the San Francisco Giants.

How are these two teams playing entering today’s game? The San Francisco Giants arrive at the second game of this three-game series with the Miami Marlins playing quality baseball. The Giants have won three of the team’s last five games played in the 2025 MLB regular season, including a 2-1 victory over the Cleveland Guardians last week.

Similar to the San Francisco Giants, the Miami Marlins are playing good baseball entering the second game of this MLB series. More specifically, the Marlins have won three of the team’s last four games played in the 2025 MLB regular season, including a 6-2 win over the Atlanta Braves five days ago.

Now that we have ascertained how both of these teams are currently playing let’s turn our attention to this evening’s contest. Starting pitcher Logan Webb has certainly been a solid performer for the San Francisco Giants this season. With that said, how has Webb performed from a statistical standpoint in 2025? Let’s examine the veteran hurler’s relevant game data from the 2025 MLB regular season to answer that question.

In 16 starts made this season, San Francisco Giants starting pitcher Logan Webb has compiled a 7-5 (win-loss record), a 1.12 WHIP (Walks and Hits per Inning Pitched) and a 2.49 ERA (Earned Run Average) which ranks eighth in MLB. Additionally, Logan Webb has tallied 114 strikeouts (sixth in MLB) while allowing 20 walks in 101.1 innings pitched this season.

More recently, in the San Francisco Giants 3-2 victory over the Atlanta Braves earlier this month, Giants starting pitcher Logan Webb pitched rather well. Let me be more specific. Webb pitched six quality innings while scattering six hits and no walks in the Giants win over Atlanta.

In my opinion, Logan Webb is the most likely player to post the most Draftkings points in tonight’s MLB regular season game. Having stated that, I am backing San Francisco Giants starting pitcher Logan Webb at the captain position for this one game MLB DFS slate.

Flex plays I like to play well in this MLB regular season contest (Draftkings price noted): Edward Cabrera, Starting Pitcher (Miami Marlins) $10,400: Rafael Devers, Third Baseman (San Francisco Giants) $9,600: Heliot Ramos, Outfielder (San Francisco Giants) $8,600.
