March 13, 2025 7:00 am EDT
This week, the PGA Tour presents Draftkings golf fans with the 2025 Players Championship. Let’s take a look at this week’s event from a DFS perspective.
Before I dive into my Draftkings player selections for this tournament let’s review the golf course the field will play and the key player statistics that I think are the most vital to a golfer’s success at this week’s 2025 Players Championship.
Where will the 2025 Players Championship be played?
The 2025 Players Championship will be played at TPC Sawgrass (Stadium Course) in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. The golf course is a par 72 that measures approximately 7,352 yards.
Scottie Scheffler won the 2024 Players Championship with a cumulative four round score of 20 under par.
Will the Players Championship have a traditional cut?
The 2025 Players Championship will have a field of 144 golfers to begin the event on Thursday. Upon the completion of two rounds of competitive play the top 65 golfers and ties will make the cut and move onto the third round. The remaining players will miss the cut.
2025 Players Championship Key Player Statistics
- Strokes Gained: Off the Tee
- Bogey Avoidance
- GIR (greens in regulation)
- Birdie or Better Percentage
- Strokes Gained: Around the Green
- Driving Accuracy
- Strokes Gained: Approach
I wanted to emphasize that the purpose of this article is not to provide an exact DFS lineup.
Having stated that, this article will provide multiple player options in an effort to assist the reader in generating a unique lineup that will hopefully have the potential to win a DraftKings GPP (guaranteed prize pool) contest! Keep that in mind as you construct your lineups for this PGA Tour DFS contest.
2025 Players Championship Draftkings Picks
Collin Morikawa $10,500
The 2020 PGA Championship winner arrives at this week’s tournament on the heels of four consecutive top 17 finishes on the PGA Tour, including a second-place result at last week’s 2025 Arnold Palmer Invitational.
Due to Collin Morikawa’s quality finish at the 2025 Arnold Palmer Invitational I decided to take a hard look at the relevant player statistics for the event to determine how Morikawa fared relative to the field.
Upon the completion of four rounds of competitive play at the 2025 Arnold Palmer Invitational, in relation to the field, Collin Morikawa ranked fourth in strokes gained off the tee, fifth in strokes gained approach and fifth in strokes gained around the green.
It is noteworthy that Morikawa has posted a good result at this week’s PGA Tour event in the past. More specifically, Morikawa finished 13th at the 2023 Players Championship.
Shane Lowry $9,100
Since the beginning of September, Shane Lowry has played 11 events (PGA and DP World Tours combined). In those nine tournaments just mentioned, Lowry has compiled a rather impressive nine top 13 finishes, including a second-place result at the 2025 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am in January.
Michael Kim $5,900
Michael Kim has compiled five top 13 finishes in his last six tournaments played on the PGA Tour, including an impressive second-place result at the 2025 Waste Management Phoenix Open last month.
In my view, Michael Kim’s low Draftkings price of only $5,900 presents the best fantasy value of any golfer on this week’s slate.
Jacob Bridgeman $5,300
The talented American has tallied two top 15 finishes in his last three events played on the PGA Tour, including a second-place result at the 2025 Cognizant Classic in the Palm Beaches two weeks ago.
Additional golfers I like to perform well at this week’s 2025 Players Championship (Draftkings price noted): Scottie Scheffler $12,800: Rory McIlroy $11,500: Daniel Berger $9,600: Jason Day $8,100: Keegan Bradley $7,700: Max Greyserman $7,300.
