Draftkings Best DFS Players Championship Player Selections

This week, the PGA Tour presents Draftkings golf fans with the 2024 Players Championship. Let’s take a look at this event from a DFS perspective.

A stacked field of talent, including defending champion Scottie Scheffler, will battle for the right to hoist the Players Championship winner’s trophy on Sunday afternoon.

The 2024 Players Championship will be played at TPC Sawgrass (Stadium Course) in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. The golf course is a par 72 that measures approximately 7,725 yards.

Hideki Matsuyama $9,800

The 2021 Masters Tournament winner has accumulated two consecutive top 12 finishes on the PGA Tour, including a win at the 2024 Genesis Invitational four weeks ago.

In relation to this week’s currently listed 2024 Players Championship field, in the last eight rounds played on the PGA Tour, Hideki Matsuyama ranks sixth in strokes gained tee to green, 11th in birdie or better percentage, and fourth in bogey avoidance.

Additionally, Hideki Matsuyama finished fifth at the 2023 Players Championship.

Adam Scott $7,600

Since the beginning of December, Adam Scott has played six tournaments (PGA and DP World Tours combined). In those six events just mentioned, Scott has accumulated an impressive five top 20 finishes, including an eighth place result at the 2024 Waste Management Phoenix Open last month.

Adam Scott certainly checks the box for me when it comes to previous event/course history. Scott has played the Players Championship a whopping 20 times since 2003. In those 20 events just noted, Scott accumulated 11 top 26 finishes, including a win at the 2004 Players Championship.

Aaron Rai $6,400

Aaron Rai arrives at this week’s event on the heels of two consecutive top 23 finishes, including a 19th place result at the 2024 Mexico Open at Vidanta three weeks ago.

Aaron Rai has played well at TPC Sawgrass previously. Rai finished 19th at the 2023 Players Championship.

For me, Rai presents outstanding DFS value at the relatively low Draftkings price of $6,400.

Tom Hoge $7,800

Tom Hoge has accumulated four top 17 finishes in his last five tournaments played on the PGA Tour, including a 12th place result at last week’s 2024 Arnold Palmer Invitational.
