August 21, 2025 11:16 am EDT
This week, Draftkings golf fans will be presented with the 2025 Tour Championship. Let’s take a look at this week’s event from a DFS perspective.
Before I dive into my DFS player selections for this tournament let’s review the golf course the field will play and the key player statistics that I think are the most vital to a golfer’s success at this week’s Tour Championship.
Where will the 2025 Tour Championship be played?
The 2025 Tour Championship will be played at East Lake Country Club in Atlanta, Georgia. The golf course is a par 70 that measures approximately 7,490 yards.
Scottie Scheffler won the 2024 Tour Championship with a cumulative four round score of 30 under par.
Will the Tour Championship have a traditional cut after two rounds?
The 2025 Tour Championship will have a limited field of only 30 golfers. This event does not have a traditional cut after two rounds. All 30 golfers will compete in all four rounds of the event.
Tour Championship Key Player Statistics
- GIR (greens in regulation)
- Bogey Avoidance
- Strokes Gained: Around the Green
- Strokes Gained: Approach
- Birdie of Better Percentage
- Strokes Gained: Par Fives
I wanted to emphasize that the purpose of this article is not to provide an exact DFS lineup.
Having stated that, this article will provide multiple player options in an effort to assist the reader in generating a unique lineup that will hopefully have the potential to win a DraftKings GPP (guaranteed prize pool) contest!
Tour Championship Draftkings DFS Picks
Rory McIlroy $11,300
Since the beginning of January, Rory McIlroy has played 14 tournaments (PGA and DP World Tours combined). In those 14 events just mentioned, McIlroy compiled ten top 19 finishes, including three wins (2025 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am: 2025 Players Championship: 2025 Masters Tournament).
Rory McIlroy is currently ranked third in strokes gained off the tee (0.654), fourth in strokes gained putting (0.766), second in driving distance (323.9), 15th in scrambling (63.84%), tenth in birdie or better percentage (24.69%), second in total strokes gained (1.736) and eighth in par five scoring average (4.49) on the PGA Tour.
McIlroy certainly checks the box for me when it comes to previous event history. Since 2014, Rory McIlroy has played the Tour Championship ten times. In those ten tournaments just noted, McIlroy amassed nine top 14 finishes, including three wins in 2016, 2019 and 2022.
What did we learn from the data just presented? Clearly, Rory McIlroy is playing at a high level entering the final event of 2025. With that said, I fully expect that trend to continue at East Lake Country Club later this week.
Tommy Fleetwood $9,900
The talented Englishman arrives at this week’s event on the heels of two consecutive top four finishes on the PGA Tour, including a third-place result at the 2024 FedEx St. Jude Championship two weeks ago.
Tommy Fleetwood is currently ranked third in overall strokes gained (1.585), second in strokes gained tee to green (1.286), seventh in strokes gained approach (0.715), eighth in par four scoring average (3.97) and third in overall scoring average (69.45) on the PGA Tour.
It is noteworthy that Fleetwood has posted a quality result at East Lake Country Club in the past. More specifically, Fleetwood finished ninth at the 2023 Tour Championship.
Brian Harman $6,500
Brian Harman has accumulated four top 22 finishes in his last five events played on the PGA Tour, including an eighth-place result at the 2025 Travelers Championship in June.
Additional golfers I like to perform well at this week’s 2025 Tour Championship (Draftkings price noted): Scottie Scheffler $13,900: J.J. Spaun $8,100: Ben Griffin $7,700: Harry Hall $7,000.
