Draftkings Tour Championship First Round Picks 8/21/25

This Thursday morning, Draftkings golf fans will be presented with the first round of the 2025 Tour Championship. Let’s take a look at the first round of this tournament from a DFS perspective.

Before I discuss my Draftkings player selections for this week’s event let’s review where the first round of the 2025 Tour Championship will be played.

The 2025 Tour Championship will be played at East Lake Country Club in Atlanta, Georgia. The golf course is a par 70 that measures approximately 7,490 yards.

*Scottie Scheffler won the 2024 Tour Championship with a cumulative four round score of 30 under par.

I wanted to emphasize that the purpose of this article is not to provide an exact DFS lineup.

Having stated that, this article will provide multiple player options in an effort to assist the reader in generating a unique lineup that will hopefully have the potential to win a DraftKings GPP (guaranteed prize pool) contest! Keep that in mind as you construct your lineups for this DFS slate.

Here are my DraftKings picks for the first round of the 2025 Tour Championship.

Draftkings First Round Picks

Ludvig Aberg $9,700

Ludvig Aberg arrives at this week’s final FedEx Cup playoff event in rather good form. Let me be more specific. Aberg has amassed three top nine finishes in his last four tournaments played on the PGA Tour, including a ninth-place result at the 2025 FedEx St. Jude Championship two weeks ago.

Due to Ludvig Aberg’s quality finish at the 2025 FedEx St. Jude Championship, I decided to take a hard look at the relevant player statistics for the event to determine how Aberg fared relative to the field.

Upon the completion of four rounds of competitive play at the 2025 FedEx St. Jude Championship, in relation to the field, Ludvig Aberg ranked third in driving distance (323.5), 14th in driving accuracy (66.1%) and 15th in bogey avoidance (7).

Additionally, Aberg has played exceptionally well when the lights are shining the brightest in the state of Georgia multiple times in the past. Aberg has compiled two top seven finishes at the Masters Tournament in the last two years, including a second-place result at the 2024 Masters Tournament.

Russell Henley $9,500

Russell Henley arrives at the 2025 Tour Championship on the of heels six consecutive top 17 finishes on the PGA Tour, including a second-place result at the 2025 Travelers Championship in June. Henley also finished fourth at the 2024 Tour Championship.

It is noteworthy that Russell Henley won the 2025 Arnold Palmer Invitational in March with a four round cumulative score of 11 under par.

What did we learn from the data just presented? Clearly, Henley is playing at a high-level entering this week’s 2025 Tour Championship.

Harry Hall $7,400

The talented Englishman has amassed two top 15 finishes in his last three tournaments played on the PGA Tour, including an impressive sixth-place result at last week’s 2025 BMW Championship.

Harris English $7,200

Last week, Harris English fired a third round 67 at the 2025 BMW Championship en route to an eventual 12th place finish. English finished 13th at the 2020 Tour Championship.
