This week, Draftkings golf fans will be presented with the third major championship of the year, the 2025 U.S. Open. Let’s take a look at this week’s prestigious event from a Draftkings perspective.
Before I dive into my DFS player selections for this tournament let’s review the golf course the field will play and the key player statistics that I think are the most vital to a golfer’s success at this week’s 2025 U.S. Open.
Where will the 2025 U.S. Open be played?
The 2025 U.S. Open will be played at Oakmont Country Club in Oakmont, Pennsylvania. The golf course is a par 70 that measures approximately 7,372 yards.
Bryson DeChambeau won the 2024 U.S. Open with a cumulative four round score of six under par.
How will the U.S. Open cut be determined?
The U.S. Open will have a field of 156 players to start the tournament on Thursday. Upon the completion of two rounds, a cut will occur. The top 60 golfers (including ties) will make the cut.

2025 U.S. Open Draftkings Picks
Scottie Scheffler $14,400
The talented American arrives at this week’s event on the heels of seven consecutive top eight finishes on the PGA Tour, including three wins (2025 CJ Cup Byron Nelson: 2025 PGA Championship: 2025 Memorial Tournament).
Scheffler is currently ranked first in strokes gained approach (1.342), first in par four scoring average (3.90), first in overall strokes gained (2.687), sixth in GIR (greens in regulation-70.25%), first in strokes gained off the tee (0.776) and first in bogey avoidance (10.07%) on the PGA Tour.
What did we learn from the data just presented? Clearly, Scottie Scheffler is playing outstanding golf in 2025. With that said, I fully expect that trend to continue at this week’s 2025 U.S. Open.
Ludvig Aberg $9,600
Ludvig Aberg has compiled three top 16 finishes in his last six tournaments played on the PGA Tour, including an impressive seventh-place result at the 2025 Masters Tournament in April. Additionally, Aberg finished 12th at the 2024 U.S. Open.
Shane Lowry $7,800
Since the beginning of February, Shane Lowry has played 11 tournaments on the PGA Tour. In those 11 events just mentioned, Lowry has compiled eight top 23 finishes, including a 13th result at last week’s 2025 RBC Canadian Open.
Shane Lowry certainly checks the box for me when it comes to key player statistics. Lowry is currently ranked second in strokes gained approach (1.020), first in proximity to the hole (33’7), fifth in total strokes gained (1.443), 24th in scrambling (64.49%) and seventh in par three scoring average (2.98) on the PGA Tour.
Lowry finished 19th at the 2024 U.S. Open.
Sepp Straka $7,700
Sepp Straka has accumulated three top 13 finishes in his last four events played on the PGA Tour, including a win at the 2025 Truist Championship last month.
Due to Sepp Straka’s impressive win at the 2025 Truist Championship I decided to take a hard look at the relevant player statistics for the event to determine how Straka fared relative to the field.
Upon the completion of four rounds of competitive play at the 2025 Truist Championship, in relation to the field, Sepp Straka ranked 16th in GIR (greens in regulation-83.3%), 19th in driving accuracy (60.7%), ninth in putting average (1.696), fourth in total birdies made (20) and second in bogey avoidance (6).
Additional golfers I like to perform well at this week’s 2025 U.S. Open (Draftkings price noted): Bryson DeChambeau $11,000: Joaquin Niemann $8,600: Corey Conners $7,300: Ben Griffin $7,200: Matt Fitzpatrick $7,100: Marc Leishman $6,000.
