Draftkings Wyndham Championship First Round Picks 7/31/25
2025 Wyndham Championship
July 31, 2025 7:00 am EDT
This Thursday morning, Draftkings golf fans will be presented with the first round of the 2025 Wyndham Championship. Let’s take a look at the first round of this tournament from a DFS perspective.
Before I discuss my Draftkings player selections for this week’s event let’s review where the first round of the 2025 Wyndham Championship will be played.
The 2025 Wyndham Championship will be played at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, North Carolina. The track is a par 70 that measures 7,131 yards.
Aaron Rai won the 2024 Wyndham Championship with a cumulative four round score of 18 under par.
I wanted to emphasize that the purpose of this article is not to provide an exact DFS lineup.
Having stated that, this article will provide multiple player options in an effort to assist the reader in generating a unique lineup that will hopefully have the potential to win a DraftKings GPP (guaranteed prize pool) contest! Keep that in mind as you construct your lineups for this DFS slate.
For those readers that are not aware, the rules and scoring for DraftKings single round showdown contests are vastly different than the traditional classic contests offered by the platform.
If you need to review the specific rules for the single round showdown contests feel free to check out the DraftKings website.
Here are my DraftKings picks for the first round of the 2025 Wyndham Championship.
Draftkings First Round Picks
Ben Griffin $10,000
The talented American has compiled six top 14 finishes in his last eight events played on the PGA Tour, including a win at the 2025 Charles Schwab Challenge in May.
Griffin is currently ranked 25th in GIR (greens in regulation-69.31%), 14th in total strokes gained (1.044), 21st in strokes gained tee to green (0.844) and tenth in overall scoring average (70.07) on the PGA Tour.
Ben Griffin certainly checks the box for me from an event/course history perspective. Since 2022, Griffin has played the Wyndham Championship three times. In those three tournaments just mentioned, Griffin tallied two top seven finishes, including a fourth-place result at the 2024 Wyndham Championship.
Jake Knapp $9,300
Jake Knapp arrives at this week’s tournament on the heels of four consecutive top 22 finishes on the PGA Tour, including a fourth-place result at the 2025 Rocket Classic five weeks ago.
Due to Jake Knapp’s quality finish at the 2025 Rocket Classic I decided to take a hard look at the relevant player statistics for the event to determine how Knapp fared relative to the field.
Upon the completion of four rounds of competitive play at the 2025 Rocket Classic, in relation to the field, Jake Knapp ranked second in driving distance (332.5), tenth in GIR (greens in regulation-80.3%), tenth in total birdies made (23) and sixth in bogey avoidance (4).
What did we learn from the data just presented? Clearly, Jake Knapp is playing outstanding golf. With that said, I fully expect that trend to continue at this week’s 2025 Wyndham Championship.
William Mouw $7,300
Four weeks ago, William Mouw fired a final round 61 at the 2025 ISCO Championship en route to his first win on the PGA Tour.
Victor Perez $7,200
Victor Perez has amassed three top 28 finishes in his last six events played on the PGA Tour, including an impressive ninth-place result at the 2025 RBC Canadian Open last month.
Additional golfers I like to perform well in the first round of the 2025 Wyndham Championship (Draftkings price noted): Matt Fitzpatrick $10,400: Lucas Glover $8,900: Matt Kuchar $6,800: Christiaan Bezuidenhout $7,400: Austin Eckroat $6,900: Kevin Kisner $6,300.
