New York Yankees vs. Toronto Blue Jays
June 30, 2025 7:07 pm EDT

Major League Baseball presents Draftkings baseball fans with an American League matchup featuring the New York Yankees and the Toronto Blue Jays. Let’s take a look at this MLB game from a DFS perspective.

Before we dive into the New York Yankees vs. Toronto Blue Jays game let’s review the rules for the Draftkings MLB single game showdown contest.

Draftkings Single Game Showdown Contest Rules

You have $50,000 to utilize on five players from either team. However, one of those players will be designated as your team captain. The captain accumulates 1.5 times the standard fantasy points. Additionally, the captain is 1.5 times the standard cost of the flex position.

The remaining four players in your lineup will receive the standard fantasy points. Having stated that, it is highly important for you to identify the correct player for your captain position if you hope to win a large field DFS GPP (guaranteed prize pool) showdown contest.

If you have additional questions regarding the rules for the single game showdown contest, I recommend that you check out the Draftkings website for more details.

*I recommend that all readers review the starting lineups for both teams prior to setting your DFS lineup for this one game slate.

Here are my Draftkings picks for tomorrow night’s Yankees vs. Blue Jays matchup.

Draftkings MLB DFS Showdown Picks

Captain-Carlos Rodon, Starting Pitcher, New York Yankees $12,000

On Monday night, Major League Baseball presents the opening game of a four-game American League series featuring the New York Yankees and the Toronto Blue Jays.

How are these two teams playing entering tomorrow evening’s MLB game? The New York Yankees arrive at the first game of this four-game series with the Toronto Blue Jays playing good baseball. The Yankees have won three of the team’s last four games played in the 2025 MLB regular season, including a 7-1 win over the Cincinnati Reds four days ago.

Similar to the New York Yankees, the Toronto Blue Jays arrive at this opening game of this American League series playing quality baseball. The Blue Jays have won four of the team’s last six games played this season, including a 10-6 victory over the Cleveland Guardians earlier this week.

Now that we have identified how both of these teams are currently playing let’s shift our focus to tomorrow night’s contest. Starting pitcher Carlos Rodon has certainly been a solid performer for the New York Yankees starting pitching rotation this season. With that said, how has Rodon performed from a statistical standpoint in 2025? Let’s examine Rodon’s player data from the 2025 MLB regular season to answer that question.

Through 17 starts made in 2025, New York Yankees starting pitcher Carlos Rodon has compiled an 9-5 (win-loss record), a 2.92 ERA (Earned Run Average) and a 0.97 WHIP (Walks and Hits per Inning Pitched) which ranks tenth in MLB. It should also be mentioned that Rodon has tallied 119 strikeouts (fourth in MLB) while allowing 34 walks in 101.2 innings pitched this season.

Earlier this month, in the New York Yankees 3-2 win over the Cleveland Guardians, Yankees starting pitcher Carlos Rodon pitched exceptionally well. Rodon pitched seven quality innings while scattering five hits and only one walk in the Yankees victory over the Guardians.

In my view, Carlos Rodon is the most likely player to post the most Draftkings points in this MLB regular season game. Having stated that, I am backing New York Yankees starting pitcher Carlos Rodon at the captain position for this one game MLB DFS slate.

Flex plays I like to play well in this MLB regular season game (Draftkings price noted): Matt Scherzer, Starting Pitcher (Toronto Blue Jays) $10,000: Cody Bellinger, Outfielder (New York Yankees) $8,400: Aaron Judge, Outfielder (New York Yankees) $10,400.
