Milwaukee Brewers vs. Texas Rangers
September 8, 2025 8:05 pm EDT

Major League Baseball presents FanDuel baseball fans with an interleague matchup featuring the Milwaukee Brewers and the Texas Rangers. Let’s take a look at this MLB game from a DFS perspective.

Before we dive into the Milwaukee Brewers vs. Texas Rangers game let’s review the rules for the FanDuel single game showdown contest.

FanDuel Single Game Contest Rules

Here are the FanDuel single game contest rules. You have $60,000 to utilize on five players from either team. However, one of those players will be designated as your team MVP. The MVP accumulates 1.5x times the standard FanDuel fantasy points value. Additionally, the MVP is 1.5 times the standard cost of the flex position.

The remaining five players in your lineup will be flex plays. The five flex positions will receive the standard FanDuel points value. Having stated that, it is highly important for you to identify the correct player for your MVP position if you hope to win a large field GPP (guaranteed prize pool) FanDuel single game contest.

If you have additional questions regarding the rules for the single game contest, I highly recommend that you check out the FanDuel website for more details.

*It should be noted that FanDuel does not utilize the pitcher position in single game MLB contests. Having stated that, only batters are available for single game MLB lineups on the FanDuel platform.

Here are my FanDuel picks for this evening’s Brewers vs. Rangers matchup.

FanDuel MLB DFS Picks

MVP-Sal Frelick, Outfielder, Milwaukee Brewers $8,600

On Monday night, Major League Baseball presents the opening game of a three-game interleague series featuring the Milwaukee Brewers and the Texas Rangers.

How are these two teams playing entering today’s MLB game? The Milwaukee Brewers arrive at the first game of this three-game series with the Texas Rangers playing good baseball. The Brewers have won four of the team’s last five games played in the 2025 MLB regular season, including a 6-3 win over the Philadelphia Phillies last week.

In direct contrast to the Brewers, the Texas Rangers arrive at the opening game of this interleague series playing below average baseball. Let me be more specific. The Rangers have lost three of the team’s last five games played this season, including an embarrassing 11-0 shutout loss to the Toronto Blue Jays five days ago.

Now that we have ascertained how both of these teams are currently playing let’s shift our focus to today’s contest. Outfielder Sal Frelick has certainly been a solid contributor for the Milwaukee Brewers this season. Having stated that, how has the Frelick performed from a statistical standpoint? Let’s examine Frelick’s relevant game data from the 2025 MLB regular to better shed light on the veteran outfielder’s overall contributions to his team.

In the 126 games that Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Sal Frelick has played in the 2025 MLB regular season, Frelick has compiled a .299 batting average, ten home runs, 42 walks, 54 RBIs (runs batted in), 19 stolen bases and 67 runs scored.

More recently, in the Milwaukee Brewers 5-2 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates three days ago, Milwaukee outfielder Sal Frelick played rather well. Frelick amassed one hit, two walks, one run scored and one stolen base in the Brewers defeat of the Pirates.

In my view, Sal Frelick’s reasonable FanDuel price of only $8,600 presents the best fantasy value on this slate. For that specific reason, I am backing Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Sal Frelick at the MVP position for this one game MLB DFS slate.

Flex plays I like to play well in this evening’s MLB regular season game (FanDuel price noted): Brice Turang, Second Baseman (Milwaukee Brewers) $10,600: Wyatt Langford, Outfielder (Texas Rangers) $11,400.
