Later today, the Utah Jazz travel to the American Airlines Center for a matchup with the Dallas Mavericks.

Here are the single game contest rules. You have $60,000 to utilize on five players from either team. However, one of those players will be designated as your team MVP. The MVP accumulates 2x times the standard FanDuel fantasy points value.

The remaining four players in your lineup will be the star, pro, and flex plays. The star player will receive 1.5x the standard fantasy points value. The pro player will accumulate 1.2x the standard fantasy points value.

The final two flex positions will receive the standard points value. Having stated that, it is important for you to identify the correct player for your MVP position if you hope to win a FanDuel single game contest.

Here are my FanDuel Player Selections for tonight’s Utah Jazz vs. Dallas Mavericks matchup.

MVP-Kyrie Irving $15,500

How important is Dallas point guard Kyrie Irving to the Mavericks offense? In the Mavericks last three games played, Kyrie Irving has averaged an impressive 29.3 points, 6 rebounds, 8 assists, and 2.3 steals a game. I think it’s fair to say that the Mavericks offense runs through the Dallas point guard.

It should also be mentioned that Kyrie Irving will be facing a Utah Jazz defense that has had issues containing opposing point guards recently. In the last 30 games played, Utah is ranked 28th in total FanDuel points (53.04) allowed to the point guard position. Considering the fact that the NBA has a total of 30 teams in the entire league, 30th is not good.

Having stated that, I fully expect that Irving will have offensive success versus this vulnerable Utah Jazz defense tonight.

Star-Luka Doncic $17,500

Unless you have been living under a rock the last five years, you are aware that Luka Doncic is one of the best players in the NBA. Having stated that, it’s safe to say that Doncic is the best player on the Dallas Mavericks by a very large margin.

Now that we have established that Doncic is currently one of the best players in the association how good has Luka Doncic been playing recently? In his last two games played, Doncic has averaged 27.5 points, 10 rebounds, 9.5 assists, and 1.5 steals a game.

Similar to Kyrie Irving, Doncic draws a Dallas defense that has had significant problems with allowing fantasy points to the shooting guard position. In the last seven games played in the NBA, the Utah Jazz are ranked 26th in total FanDuel points (49.53) allowed a game to the shooting guard position.

Pro-Keyonte George $12,000

Utah point guard Keyonte George has certainly been a key contributor to this Utah Jazz offense over the last month. In his last six games played, George has averaged 31.05 FanDuel points a game.

Additionally, George will face a Dallas defense that has struggled defending point guards all season. In the last 30 games played in the NBA, the Mavericks are ranked a rather low 23rd in total FanDuel points allowed (49.56) to the point guard position.
