In direct contrast to the Philadelphia Phillies, the Arizona Diamondbacks have been playing below average baseball recently. More specifically, the Diamondbacks have lost six of the team’s last nine games played this season, including an 8-3 loss to the New York Mets five days ago.

Now that we have determined how both of these Major League Baseball teams are currently playing let’s shift our focus to this evening’s contest. Veteran shortstop Trea Turner has certainly been playing quality baseball for the Philadelphia Phillies this season. Let’s examine Turner’s recent game data to better shed light on my previous statement.

In 30 games that Trea Turner has played for the Philadelphia Phillies this season, Turner has compiled a .298 batting average, 35 hits, 11 RBIs (runs batted in), 13 walks, a .379 OBS (On-Base Percentage) and 23 runs scored. Clearly, Trea Turner is swinging the bat at a high-level entering tonight’s MLB game.

More recently, in the Philadelphia Phillies 7-6 win over the Washington Nationals earlier this month, Philadelphia shortstop Trea Turner played exceptionally well. In the Phillies victory over the Nationals, Turner amassed four hits, one RBI and two runs scored. It should also be mentioned that in the Phillies defeat of the Nationals, Turner tallied a massive 24.9 FanDuel points.

In my view, Trea Turner is the most likely player to accumulate the most FanDuel points in this MLB game. With that said, I am backing Philadelphia Phillies shortstop Trea Turner at the MVP position for this one game MLB DFS slate.
