FanDuel Best MLB DFS Picks: Royals vs. Mariners 6/30/25

Kansas City Royals vs. Seattle Mariners
June 30, 2025 9:40 pm EDT

Later today, Major League Baseball presents FanDuel baseball fans with an American League matchup featuring the Kansas City Royals and the Seattle Mariners. Let’s take a look at this MLB game from a DFS perspective.

Before we dive into the Kansas City Royals vs. Seattle Mariners game let’s review the rules for the FanDuel single game showdown contest.

FanDuel Single Game Contest Rules

Here are the FanDuel single game contest rules. You have $60,000 to utilize on five players from either team. However, one of those players will be designated as your team MVP. The MVP accumulates 1.5x times the standard FanDuel fantasy points value. Additionally, the MVP is 1.5 times the standard cost of the flex position.

The remaining five players in your lineup will be flex plays. The five flex positions will receive the standard FanDuel points value. Having stated that, it is highly important for you to identify the correct player for your MVP position if you hope to win a large field GPP (guaranteed prize pool) FanDuel single game contest.

If you have additional questions regarding the rules for the single game contest, I highly recommend that you check out the FanDuel website for more details.

*It should be noted that FanDuel does not utilize the pitcher position in single game MLB contests. Having stated that, only batters are available for single game MLB lineups on the FanDuel platform.

Here are my FanDuel picks for this evening’s Royals vs. Mariners matchup.

FanDuel MLB DFS Picks

MVP-Bobby Witt, Shortstop, Kansas City Royals $13,800

On Monday night, Major League Baseball presents the opening game of a four-game American League series featuring the Kansas City Royals and the Seattle Mariners.

How are these two teams playing entering tonight’s MLB game? The Kansas City Royals arrive at the first game of this three-game series with the Seattle Mariners playing below average baseball. The Royals have lost seven of the team’s last eight games played in the 2025 MLB regular season, including a 4-0 shutout loss to the Kansas City Royals four days ago.

Similar to the Kansas City Royals, the Seattle Mariners are not playing well entering this evening’s game. More specifically, the Mariners have lost three of the team’s last five games played in the 2025 MLB regular season, including a 2-0 loss to the Minnesota Twins last week.

Now that we have determined how both of these teams are currently playing let’s shift our focus to this evening’s contest. Shortstop Bobby Witt has been a standout performer for the Kansas City Royal this season. Having stated that, how has the veteran shortstop performed from a statistical perspective? Let’s review Witt’s relevant game data from the 2025 MLB regular season to answer that question.

Kansas City Royals shortstop Bobby Witt arrives at tonight’s with a .285 batting average, 11 home runs, 42 RBIs (runs batted in) and 46 runs scored in 79 games played this season. Witt has also showcased his speed with 21 stolen bases in 2025.

More recently, in Kansas City Royals 9-5 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers four days ago, Kansas City shortstop Bobby Witt played exceptionally well. In the Royals victory over the Dodgers, Witt compiled four hits (one double), three runs scored and two RBIs. It should also be mentioned that in the Royals defeat of Los Angeles, Witt tallied a massive 24.6 FanDuel points.

In my view, Bobby Witt is the most likely player to post the most FanDuel points in tonight’s MLB game. With that said, I am backing Kansas City Royals shortstop Bobby Witt at the MVP position for this one game MLB DFS slate.

Flex plays I like in this game (FanDuel price noted): Cal Raleigh, Catcher (Seattle Mariners) $14,800: Maikel Garcia, Third Baseman (Kansas City Royals) $10,400: Luke Raley, Outfielder (Seattle Mariners) $8,800.
