This week, the LPGA Tour travels to the state of California for the 2021 U.S. Women’s Open.
Before I discuss my favorite golf bets for this week’s LPGA Tour event let’s take a look at the golf course the field will play and the key player statistics that I think are the most vital to a golfer’s success at this week’s U.S. Women’s Open.
The 2021 U.S. Women’s Open will be played at the Olympic Club (Lake Course) in San Francisco, California. The Lake Course is a par 71 that measures 6,457 yards. This track will present this week’s field with only three par five holes. This golf course features tight tree lined fairways and heavily bunker protected greens. In my opinion, this track is a second shot golf course that will require outstanding ball striking from the fairway.
The key player statistics that I will be focusing on this week are driving accuracy, GIR (greens in regulation), driving distance, putts per GIR, and scoring average.
Now let’s shift our focus to my favorite golf bets for the 2021 Women’s U.S. Open!
Here are two golfers to consider placing on your card to finish in the top five.
Jessica Korda +500
The 28 year old American has played some outstanding golf this year. Let me be more specific. Korda has played seven tournaments on the LPGA Tour since the beginning of January. In those seven events just mentioned, Korda has an impressive four top eight finishes, including a win at the Diamond Resort Tournament of Champions in January.
Korda also checks the box for me when it comes to key player statistics. Korda is currently ranked seventh in driving distance (277.63), fourth in GIR (greens in regulation-78.57%), and seventh in putts per GIR (1.72) on the LPGA Tour.
It should also be noted that Korda finished tenth at the 2019 U.S. Women’s Open.
Brooke Henderson +350
The 23 year old Canadian arrives at this week’s U.S. Women’s Open on the heels of two consecutive top ten finishes on the LPGA Tour, including a win at the HUGEL-AIR PREMIA LA Open in April.
Henderson is currently ranked third in GIR (greens in regulation-80.04%) and fifth in driving distance (278.78) on the LPGA Tour.
Here is a golfer to consider placing on your card to finish in the top ten.
Danielle Kang +350
Since the beginning of March, Kang has played six events on the LPGA Tour. In those six tournaments just mentioned, Kang has four top 13 finishes, including a seventh place result at the Kia Classic.
