This week, the PGA Tour travels to Silvis, Illinois for the 2023 John Deere Classic.

Before I discuss my favorite golf bets for the 2023 John Deere Classic let’s take a quick look at the golf course the field will play and the key player statistics that I feel are the most vital to a player’s success at TPC Deere Run.

The 2023 John Deere Classic will be played at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Illinois. The golf course is a par 71 that measures approximately 7,289 yards. This week’s field will be presented with rather large generous fairways and bentgrass greens. Historically, PGA Tour players have had no problem posting low scores at TPC Deere Run. I expect that trend to continue at this week’s event. I highly recommend that golf bettors focus on placing wagers on players that are currently performing well in birdie or better percentage and bogey avoidance.

The key player statistics that I will be focusing on this week are bogey avoidance, birdie or better percentage, strokes gained ball striking, and strokes gained putting.

Here is a golfer to consider placing on your card to finish in the top five.

Russell Henley +360

Russell Henley arrives at this week’s 2023 John Deere Classic on the heels of four consecutive top 19 finishes on the PGA Tour, including an impressive 14th place result at the 2023 United States Open three weeks ago.

In relation to this week’s 2023 John Deere Classic field, in the last 12 rounds played on the PGA Tour, Russell Henley ranks 11th in birdie or better percentage, sixth in strokes gained ball striking, fifth in driving accuracy, and fourth in strokes gained approach.

It should be noted that Russell Henley finished second at the 2019 John Deere Classic.

Here are two golfers to consider placing on your card to finish in the top 20.

Lucas Glover +260

Last week, Lucas Glover fired a final round 65 at the 2023 Rocket Mortgage Classic en route to an eventual fourth place finish.

Lucas Glover also won the 2021 John Deere Classic.

Chez Reavie +260

Chez Reavie has accumulated two consecutive top 29 finishes on the PGA Tour, including a fourth place result at the 2023 Travelers Championship two weeks ago.

I fully expect Reavie to play well this week. Having stated that, I am backing Chez Reavie to post a top 20 finish at this week’s 2023 John Deere Classic.
