2023 Ryder Cup
2023-09-29 01:35:00 EDT

This week, golf bettors will be presented with the 2023 Ryder Cup.

The 2023 Ryder Cup will be played at the Marco Simone Golf and Country Club near Rome, Italy. The golf course is a par 71 that measures approximately 7,268 yards.

Before I dive into my favorite prop bets for the 2023 Ryder Cup let’s take a look at the top five golfers in the OWGR (Official World Golf Ranking) that are in this week’s Ryder Cup field.

Top Five Golfers in OWGR (Official World Golf Ranking)

1. Scottie Scheffler

2. Rory McIlroy

3. Jon Rahm

4. Viktor Hovland

5. Patrick Cantlay

Now that we have determined who the top five golfers in the current OWGR (Official World Golf Rankings) are in this week’s Ryder Cup field let’s shift our focus to my favorite tournament prop bets!

Top USA Rookie: Wyndham Clark +260

Wyndham Clark has accumulated two consecutive top 15 finishes on the PGA Tour, including a third place result at the 2023 Tour Championship in August. It should also be noted that Clark won his first major championship in June by winning the 2023 U.S. Open.

In relation to this week’s 2023 Ryder Cup field, in the last eight rounds played on the PGA Tour, Wyndham Clark ranks ninth in strokes gained around the green, seventh in strokes gained on par threes, and fifth in overall total strokes gained.

In summary, I am backing Wyndham Clark to be the top rookie for the USA team at odds of +260

Top English Point Leader: Tommy Fleetwood +225

Tommy Fleetwood arrives at this year’s 2023 Ryder Cup in rather good form. More specifically, Fleetwood has accumulated five top ten finishes in his last six events played (DP World and PGA Tours combined), including a sixth place result at the 2023 BMW PGA Championship two weeks ago.

In relation to this week’s 2023 Ryder Cup field, in the last 75 rounds played on the PGA Tour, Tommy Fleetwood ranks 11th in strokes gained putting, third in bogey avoidance, and seventh in strokes gained on par fours.

I think Tommy Fleetwood will significantly improve his current Ryder Cup record of 4-2-2 in Italy this week.
