Now that we have determined who the top five golfers with regard to scoring average are on the PGA Tour (in this week’s field) let’s shift our attention to my favorite tournament matchup bet for this week’s 2023 Players Championship.
Matt Fitzpatrick -110 over Tommy Fleetwood
In his last seven tournaments played (PGA and DP World Tours combined), Matt Fitzpatrick has accumulated five top 29 finishes, including a seventh place result at the 2023 Sentry Tournament Of Champions in January.
In relation to this week’s current listed 2023 Players Championship field, in the last 36 rounds played on the PGA Tour, Matt Fitzpatrick ranks fourth in bogey avoidance, 13th in scrambling, and 14th in strokes gained on par fives.
It should also be noted that Fitzpatrick finished ninth at the 2021 Players Championship.
