Waste Management Open: PGA Tour Picks, Odds 2/9/23

Waste Management Phoenix Open
February 2, 2023 10:00 am EDT

This week, the PGA Tour travels to Phoenix, Arizona for the 2023 Waste Management Open.

Before I discuss my favorite golf bet for this week’s PGA Tour event let’s take a quick look at the golf course the field will play and the key player statistics that I think are the most important to a player’s success at this week’s 2023 Waste Management Open.

The 2023 Waste Management Phoenix Open will be played at TPC Scottsdale. The golf course is a par 71 that measures 7,261 yards. This track features undulating bermuda grass fairways and relatively average size bermuda grass greens. Bunkers guard the majority of greens. This course also features a par four (17th hole) that is reachable for the long hitters in the field.

The key statistics that I will be focusing on this week are GIR (greens in regulation), strokes gained to green, strokes gained approach, driving accuracy and driving distance.

Here is a golfer to consider placing on your card to finish in the top 20.

Rickie Fowler +275

The 34 year old American has accumulated two top 11 finishes in his last four events played on the PGA Tour, including a second place result at the ZOZO Championship in October.

In relation to this week’s current listed 2023 Waste Management Phoenix Open field, in the last 12 rounds played on the PGA Tour, Rickie Fowler ranks eighth in GIR (greens in regulation), 13th in birdie or better percentage, and 15th in strokes gained approach.

It should also be noted that Rickie Fowler won the 2019 Waste Management Phoenix Open.
