Charles Schwab Challenge: Predictions PGA Tour Golf Picks, Odds 5/25/23

Charles Schwab Challenge
2023-05-25 07:00:00 EDT

This week, the PGA Tour presents golf bettors with the Charles Schwab Challenge.

Before I discuss my favorite golf bets for the 2023 Charles Schwab Challenge let’s take a look at the golf course the field will play and the key player statistics that I feel are most vital to a golfer’s success this week.

The 2023 Charles Schwab Challenge will be played at the Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas. The golf course is a par 70 that measures approximately 7,209 yards. This track will present this week’s field with tight tree lined fairways and rather small greens. It should also be noted that this golf course features bermuda grass fairways and bentgrass greens.

This will be the 51st consecutive year that the Charles Schwab Challenge has been played at the Colonial Country Club. The event is the longest running non major tournament on the PGA Tour.

The key player statistics that I will be focusing on this week are GIR (greens in regulation), strokes gained tee to green, strokes gained ball striking, and strokes gained putting.

Now let’s shift our focus to my favorite golf bets for this week’s 2023 Charles Schwab Challenge.

Here is a golfer to consider placing on your card to win.

Collin Morikawa +1600

Since the beginning of January, Collin Morikawa has played ten tournaments on the PGA Tour. In those ten events just mentioned, Collin Morikawa has accumulated five top 13 finishes, including a tenth place finish at the 2023 Masters Tournament in April.

In relation to this week’s current listed 2023 Charles Schwab Challenge field, in the last 12 rounds played on the PGA Tour, Collin Morikawa ranks eighth in strokes gained ball striking, 13th in GIR (greens in regulation), and sixth in strokes gained approach.

I also like the fact that Collin Morikawa has performed well at this week’s PGA Tour event in the past. More specifically, Collin Morikawa finished second at the 2020 Charles Schwab Challenge.

In summary, I am backing Collin Morikawa to win at odds of +1200.

Here are two golfers to consider placing on your card to finish in the top ten.

Cameron Davis +400

The 28 year old Austrailian has accumulated three top seven finishes in his last five events played on the PGA Tour, including an impressive fourth place result at last week’s 2023 PGA Championship.

Cameron Davis also finished seventh at the 2022 Charles Schwab Challenge.

Tommy Fleetwood +300

Tommy Fleetwood has accumulated two consecutive top 18 finishes on the PGA Tour, including a fifth place result at the 2023 Wells Fargo Championship three weeks ago.

In relation to this week’s current listed 2023 Charles Schwab Challenge field, in the last 12 rounds played on the PGA Tour, Tommy Fleetwood ranks first in bogey avoidance, third in strokes gained tee to green, and third in GIR (greens in regulation).
