2023 Chevron Championship

This week, the LPGA Tour travels to Texas for the first major of the season, the 2023 Chevron Championship.
Before I discuss my favorite tournament matchup bet for the Chevron Championship let’s take a look at the top five players in scoring average on the LPGA Tour that are in this week’s field.
Top Five Golfers in Scoring Average (Minimum 16 Rounds played)
- Lilia Vu 68.37
- Jin Young Ko 68.38
- Atthaya Thitikul 68.43
- Georgia Hall 68.50
- Nelly Korda 68.70
Now that we have determined who the top five golfers with regard to scoring average are on the LPGA Tour (in this week’s field) let’s shift our attention to my favorite tournament matchup bet for this week’s 2023 Chevron Championship.
Georgia Hall -115 over Hyo Joo Kim
Georgia Hall has accumulated three top six finishes in her last four tournaments played on the LPGA Tour, including a second place result at the 2023 LPGA Drive On Championship in March.
Georgia Hall is currently ranked 14th in GIR (greens in regulation-74.4%), 15th in putting average (28.25), first in rounds under par (18), and second in total birdies made (92) on the LPGA Tour.
It should also be noted that Georgia Hall finished 13th at the 2022 Chevron Championship.
In summary, I am backing Georgia Hall to defeat Hyo Joo Kim in this tournament matchup bet at odds of -115.
