This week, the PGA Tour Champions travels to Virginia for the Dominion Energy Charity Classic.
Before I discuss my favorite tournament matchup bet for the 2022 Dominion Energy Charity Classic let’s take a look at the current leaders in scoring average on the PGA Tour Champions that are in this week’s field.
Top Five Golfers in Scoring Average
- Steven Alker 68.38
- Padraig Harrington 68.67
- Miguel Angel Jimenez 68.84
- Jerry Kelly 69.10
- Ernie Els 69.19
Now that we have established who the top five golfers with regard to scoring average are on the PGA Tour Champions (in this week’s field) let’s shift our attention to my favorite tournament matchup bet for this week’s 2022 Dominion Energy Classic.
Bernhard Langer -115 over Jerry Kelly
Since the beginning of August, Bernhard Langer has played six events on the PGA Tour Champions. In those six tournaments just noted, Langer has accumulated three top six finishes, including a fourth place result at the 2022 Constellation Furyk & Friends two weeks ago.
Bernhard Langer also checks the box for me when it comes to previous event/course history. Let me be more specific. Langer has played this week’s PGA Tour Champions event six times since 2016. In those six tournaments just mentioned, Langer has accumulated five top four finishes, including a win at the 2021 Dominion Energy Charity Classic.
