This week, the PGA Tour presents Draftkings golf fans with the first event of the new year, the 2025 Sentry. Let’s take a look at this week’s event from a DFS perspective.
Before I dive into my Draftkings player selections for this tournament let’s review the golf course the field will play and the key player statistics that I think are the most vital to a golfer’s success at this week’s 2025 Sentry.
Where will the 2025 Sentry be played?
The 2025 Sentry will be played at the Plantation Course in Kapalua, Hawaii. The Plantation course is a par 73 that measures approximately 7,596 yards.
Chris Kirk won the 2024 Sentry with a cumulative four round score of 29 under par.
Will the Sentry have a traditional cut after two rounds?
The 2025 Sentry features a limited field of 60 golfers. Unlike traditional tournaments, there will be no cut for this event, ensuring that all participants will compete in all four rounds.

2025 Sentry Draftkings Picks
Justin Thomas $9,700
Justin Thomas has tallied eight top 30 finishes in his last 12 tournaments on the PGA Tours, including a second-place result at the 2024 ZOZO Championship in October.
Due to Justin Thomas’s impressive second place finish at the 2024 ZOZO Championship I decided to take a hard look at the relevant player statistics for the tournament to see how Thomas fared relative to the field.
Upon the completion of four rounds of competitive play at the 2024 ZOZO Championship, in relation to the field, Justin Thomas ranked third in GIR (greens in regulation-79.2%), first in bogey avoidance (1), and tenth in total birdies made (18).
Justin Thomas has posted a quality result at the Plantation Course previously. Thomas won the 2020 Sentry.
Sungjae Im $9,500
Since the beginning of July, Sungjae Im has played nine tournaments on the PGA Tour. In those nine events just mentioned, Im has compiled six top 13 finishes, including an impressive seventh place result at the 2024 Open Championship in August.
I fully expect Sungjae Im to continue his outstanding play in Hawaii this week.
Akshay Bhatia $8,900
The talented American arrives at this week’s event on the heels of two top four finishes (PGA and Japan Tours combined), including a second-place result at 2024 Dunlop Phoenix in November.
Akshay Bhatia finished 14th at the 2024 Sentry.
Jason Day $7,600
Jason Day has accumulated five top 23 finishes in his last six tournaments played (PGA and DP World Tour events combined), including an eighth-place result at the 2024 BMW Australian PGA Championship five weeks ago.
It is also noteworthy that Jason Day has played well at this week’s PGA Tour event multiple times in the past. Let me be more specific. Since 2014, Jason Day has played the Sentry five times. In those five events just mentioned, Day has compiled an impressive five top 13 finishes, including a third-place result at the 2015 Sentry.
