2023 Farmers Insurance Open

This week, the PGA Tour travels to San Diego for the 2023 Farmers Insurance Open.
Before I discuss my favorite golf bet for this week’s PGA Tour event let’s take a quick look at the unique format of this week’s 2023 Farmers Insurance Open.
The 2023 Farmers Insurance Open will be played at Torrey Pines in San Diego, California. Golf bettors should be mindful of the fact that this event will be played on two different golf courses, the Torrey Pines North and South courses.
The entire field of players will play both courses in the first two rounds of the tournament on Wednesday and Thursday. Upon completion of the second round of play on Thursday afternoon, a cut will take place. The remaining 65 players and ties will play the remainder of the golf tournament (third and fourth rounds) on the South course.
Now let’s shift our focus to my favorite golf bet for this week’s PGA Tour event.

Jon Rahm +500
Full disclosure, I would like the win odds on Jon Rahm to be more advantageous to the golf bettor. However, I can’t pass Rahm up this week. Rahm is playing great golf and I don’t see that ending anytime soon. For those readers that are not aware, Jon Rahm has won two consecutive tournaments on the PGA Tour, including last week’s 2023 American Express.
Rahm also checks the box for me when it comes to key player statistics. In relation to this week’s current listed Farmers Insurance Open field, in the last 12 rounds played on the PGA Tour, Rahm ranks fifth in GIR (greens in regulation), first in birdie or better percentage, and ninth in strokes gained off the tee.
It should also be noted that Jon Rahm finished third at the 2022 Farmers Insurance Open.
