This Friday morning, the first round of LIV Golf London will begin.

Before I discuss my favorite tournament matchup bets for the 2023 LIV Golf London event let’s take a look at the top five golfers in GIR (greens in regulation) on the LIV Golf Tour that are in this week’s field.

Top Five Golfers in GIR 

1.  Mito Pereira 73.15%

2. Brooks Koepka 72.92%

3. Talor Gooch 72.45%

Now that we have determined who the current top five golfers in GIR (greens in regulation) are on the LIV Golf Tour (in this week’s field) let’s shift our focus to my favorite tournament matchup bets for the 2023 LIV Golf London event. 

Talor Gooch +187 over Harold Varner III and Thomas Pieters

Since the beginning of April, Talor Gooch has played five tournaments on the LIV Golf Tour. In those five events just metnioned, Talor Gooch has accumulated three wins, including an impressive victory at LIV Golf Valderrama last week.

It should also be noted that Talor Gooch finished ninth at the 2022 LIV Golf London event.

Joaquin Niemann +115 over Sergio Garcia and Martin Kaymer

Joaquin Niemann has accumulated three top ten finishes in his last four tournaments played on the LIV Golf Tour, including an eighth place result at the 2023 LIV Golf Tulsa event in May.

Let us not forget that Joaquin Niemann is without a doubt one of the most talented golfers on the planet. An illustration of my previous statement can clearly be seen in Niemann’s 16th place finish at the 2023 Masters Tournament at Augusta National Golf Club in April.

In summary, I am backing Joaquin Niemann to defeat Sergio Garcia and Martin Kaymer at odds of +115.
