Memorial Tournament Predictions: PGA Tour Golf Bets, Odds 6/1/23

Memorial Tournament
2023-06-01 07:00:00 EDT

This week, the PGA Tour travels to Ohio for the 2023 Memorial Tournament.

Before I discuss my favorite golf bets for the 2023 Memorial Tournament let’s take a look at the golf course the field will play and a few key facts that I think are relevant to those placing wagers on this week’s PGA Tour event.

The 2023 Memorial Tournament will be played at Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio. This golf course is a par 72 that measure approximately 7,571 yards. Additionally, the golf course was designed by tournament host, Jack Nicklaus. Nicklaus always preferred to fade the golf ball (left to right ball flight) as a player. Having stated that, it should come as little surprise that this course clearly favors the golfer that prefers to hit fades rather than draws. I would recommend that you keep that in mind as you determine which golfers to place bets on this week.

Key Facts

The average cumulative winning score of the five previous winners of the Memorial Tournament was 13 under par.

Muirfield Village Golf Club hosted the 1987 Ryder Cup and 2013 Presidents Cup.

Now let’s shift our focus to my favorite golf bets for the 2023 Memorial Tournament.

Here is a golfer to consider placing on your card to finish in the top five.

Xander Schauffele +300

Xander Schauffele arrives at this week’s 2023 Memorial Tournament on the heels of three consecutive top 18 finishes on the PGA Tour, including a second place result at the 2023 Wells Fargo Championship four weeks ago.

In relation to this week’s current listed 2023 Memorial Tournament field, in the last 12 rounds played on the PGA Tour, Xander Schauffele ranks third in strokes gained tee to green, third in strokes gained ball striking, fourth in bogey avoidance, and fifth in birdie or better percentage.

It should also be noted that Xander Schauffele finished 11th at the 2021 Memorial Tournament.

Here are two golfers to consider placing on your card to finish in the top ten.

Corey Conners +360

Since the beginning of April, Corey Conners has played five tournaments on the PGA Tour. In those five events just mentioned, Corey Conners has accumulated three top 12 finishes, including a win at the 2023 Valero Texas Open.

Rickie Fowler +320

Rickie Fowler has accumulated five top 15 finishes in his last six events played on the PGA Tour, including an impressive sixth place result at last week’s 2023 Charles Schwab Challenge.

Fowler also finished second at the 2017 Memorial Tournament.
