Pure Insurance Championship
2023-09-22 11:00:00 EDT

This week, the PGA Tour Champions travels to the beautiful shores of California for the 2023 Pure Insurance Championship.

The 2023 Pure Insurance Championship will be played at the Pebble Beach Golf Links. The golf course is a par 72 that measures approximately 7,050 yards.

Before I dive into my favorite tournament prop bets for the 2023 Pure Insurance Championship let’s take a look at the current leaders in overall scoring average that are in this week’s PGA Tour Champions event field.

Top Five Golfers in Scoring Average

1. Ernie Els 69.20

2. Steven Alker 69.43

3. Jerry Kelly 69.75

4. Stephen Ames 69.76

5. Kevin Sutherland 69.78

Now that we have identified who the top five golfers with regard to overall scoring average are on the PGA Tour Champions (in this week’s event field) let’s turn our attention to my favorite prop bets for the 2023 Pure Insurance Championship.

Here are three golfers to consider placing on your card to finish in the top ten.

Kevin Sutherland +190

Kevin Sutherland arrives at this week’s event in rather good form. Sutherland has accumulated three consecutive top 13 finishes on the PGA Tour Champions, including a second place result at the 2023 Ascension Charity Classic.

It should also be noted that Kevin Sutherland finished tenth at the 2020 Pure Insurance Championship.

Steve Flesch +230

Two weeks ago, the 56 year old American fired a final round 62 at the Ascension Charity Classic en route to his first win on the PGA Tour Champions this season.

I also like the fact that I know Steve Flesch has performed well at this week’s event in the past. Flesch won the 2022 Pure Insurance Championship.

Fred Couples +225

Since the beginning of January, Fred Couples has played nine events on the PGA Tour Champions. In those nine tournaments just noted, Couples has accumulated six top 26 finishes, including a tenth place result at the 2023 Galleri Classic in March.
